Task:

Theories are derived from conceptual models and are comprised of concepts and propositions. The only concepts that are common to all nursing theories, in some shape or form, are patient, nurse, health, and environment. These are sometimes referred to as the basic metaparadigms of the nursing domain. Identify two additional concepts that are relevant to your personal practice of nursing and explain how they relate to your practice and why they are important to your practice.

Complete the Human Needs Theory Interactive Case Study following the readings and presentation for this week. Associate what you have learned about the theories to this case study, and then see the instructions below to complete a journal entry about your experience.

FIELD LOG GUIDELINES:

As a way of demonstrating completion of this course requirement, you must submit, in writing, field logs that detail certain aspects of the event. The template for field experience logs is below.

·  Each event log should be three to five double-spaced pages of text.

·  Provide only a brief summary of the event itself.

·  The analysis section should be 550 to 800 words, and be the most developed component of the report. In the analysis section, you can write about the process of policy being made at this event, and/or you can write about the actual health policy issue being discussed/considered.

·  Your analysis should reference at least two sources. They can be from the learning materials in this course or other sources, but should be current (within the last 3 months).

·  Use APA format for citations and references.

·  The name of the event/meeting and who has sponsored it.

·  Place, date, time, and length of hearing/meeting/event.

·  Topic under discussion.

·  Analysis of the health policy issue and its implications for healthcare. Integrate course content and readings in your analysis. This section should be approximately 500 to 750 words.

• You are a student that recently failed a high stakes assignment due to a misunderstanding. You are disputing the grade you received on the assessment and you have decided to email your professor. Draft a professional email to your instructor.

Write a 100-250 word email responding to the scenario. Your email should have a subject or title line that is consistent with the content of the message. Incorporate the conventions related to delivering negative news by including the following elements: 

• Buffer statement
• Reasons for the situation or decision
• Negative news
• Suitable or desired resolution
• Respectful closing

While APA style is not required for the body of this assignment, solid academic writing is expected, and documentation of sources should be presented using APA formatting guidelines, which can be found in the APA Style Guide, located in the Student Success Center.
