Assignment for Sexual Assault and Sex Trafficking Awareness

1. Navigate the website provided by the CDC:

2. Search in your community (Crestview, FL) and identify local resources that provide shelter, safety, and short term or long term restoration for victimized women. Findings will vary depending on your community. Do not forget you can include services that cover both physical and mental health conditions resulting from sexual assault or sex trafficking.

Now that we have covered all four frames, and as you analyze the material from the biography of your selected leader, create a map to address the components of the four frames. You may review the guidance document provided for the midterm to get an idea of the types of things you should be looking for as you examine your selected leader’s biography. This assessment by Lee Bolman: Team Frames Assessment also provides you with some ideas to think about as you create your map. You do not need to complete the assessment, just review the questions.

Create a document that provides you with an outline to ensure that you address the components from all four frames. Besides the midterm guidance document, some of the ideas to think about are:

• What frame or frames did the leader use?
• Did the leader seem to be using the guidelines for leadership outlined throughout the course?
• What other elements were used (e.g., influence, motivation, networking, etc.)?
• What did the leader do when something went wrong?
• How was success or failure celebrated?

Statistical interaction can happen in a two-way ANOVA. It is possible for variables to work independent from one another within a study. When this happens, there is a need to consider the interaction between the variables. A statistical interaction occurs when the effect of two variables working together causes a greater change or a lesser change, than is anticipated. The variables are somehow dependent on one another. You will have to know the levels of each variable to understand the effect on the data. The independent variables are creating a greater effect on the dependent variable. The independent variables are not affecting each other. The study for exercise 18, researchers collected data from family members regarding level of care in Hospice with LPC, hospital with LPC, and hospital without LPC. The family members did not report a change in the level of care within the hospital with LCP vs. hospital without LCP comparison. When the hospice vs. hospital with LCP or the hospice vs. hospital without LCP groups were compared, there was a significant difference. Differences in the level of care was indicated by the p < alpha. LCP and hospice, and LCP and hospital seem to interact with the level of care (Grove & Cipher, 2017).

Interaction is a kind of action that occurs as two or more objects influence one another. The idea of a two-way effect is essential in the concept of interaction, as opposed to a one-way causal effect combination of many simple interactions can lead to surprising emergent phenomena. Interaction has different tailored meanings in various sciences. All systems are related and interdependent. Every action has a consequence.

In statistics, an interaction is a special property of three or more variables, where two or more variables interact to affect a third variable in a non-additive manner. In other words, the two variables interact to have an effect that is more than the sum of their parts.

For example, two of my friends are on weight loss program. We’re evaluating 2 different diets and 2 different exercise programs. One focused on cardio and one focused on weight training. We want to determine which result in greater weight loss. We randomly assign participants to either diet A or B and either the cardio or weight training regimen, and then record the amount of weight they’ve lost after 1 month.

Imago dei is the view of Christians as the human is made in the image of God (Shelly & Miller, 1999).  This is important to healthcare as we should treat our patients as they are a gift from God and everyone has a purpose in life.  The complexity of a human body is a miracle in its self when a human being is created with cells and the multiplication of all those cells to create different organs, blood, and a body to house everything.  As we treat our patients medically and spiritually, we do it for the love and devotion we must aid in healing those that are sick or make a person comfortable at the end of life.  Every person has a place on this earth with a duty to perform, but it is up to that individual to create a compassionate or hateful life. “The fundamental goal of health care and medicine is healing and caring that results in physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being” (Clark, 2018).  This holds truth as to how healthcare and religion play a factor in caring for God’s people.  As nurses we are not to judge a person and the choices they have made and any events leading up to the reason for the hospital admission.  We are there to promote a better future and offer a hand to aid them in the right direction.  Nurses are never to cause harm and to view each individual as a miracle that has been created, will give a more nurturing care for each individual patient.

The concept of imago dei is the Christian understanding that we, and all human beings, are created in the likeness and image of God himself. Since we are created in the His image, every person no matter their mental, physical, social, or any other marker of status, has been bequeathed a certain dignity and honor (Allen-Shelley & Miller, 2006).

This concept is the foundation of how Western society views and approaches human rights. It is present in our legal, health care, and social service systems. Thus, it is important in health care because it forms the basis for how we approach others. It is also important because it tells us that every human being is deserving of our care, no matter what their diagnosis may be, whether they have the ability to pay, or for any other reason (Allen-Shelley & Miller, 2006). 

It is relevant because, in health care we frequently experience situations in which medical care seems futile, like the example in Allen-Shelley & Miller (2006) of the infant born with a poor prognosis of life. We also frequently come across people who do not have the means to pay for their health care and/or do not have adequate health insurance. Per imago dei, these people are still deserving of care despite their inability to pay or their social status.

Principalism, especially in the context of bioethics in the United States, has often been critiqued for raising the principle of autonomy to the highest place, such that it trumps all other principles or values. How would you rank the importance of each of the four principles? How do you believe they would be ordered in the context of the Christian biblical narrative?
