“My Future Goals and Scholarship”

This is a 3 page paper that discusses your journey in the RN-BSN Program. Students should highlight sources of new knowledge gained, how knowledge of EBP (Evidenced-Based-Practice) influences their performance and critical thinking in their work environments, how Academic Student Learning (which is a volunteering at different facilities and trying to make a difference or improvement for the community) has influenced positively or negatively their willingness to engage in volunteerism in the future and lastly, what are their plans for scholarly undertakings after graduation (My plans are to work as Nurse working with Elderly for profit and non-profit organization, or maybe opening a day care facility for immigrants from the former Soviet Union). My other goal is to pursue Master Degree in Nursing as well.

APA format with headings and references required. Cover and reference pages are not counted as part of the 3-5 page paper requirement.

Financial Analysis

How can you assess the financial viability and merit of your program? What indications will inform you and others whether your financial strategies are likely to result in positive health outcomes for the population?

This week you continue to develop Assignment 3, applying the principles of cost-effectiveness, cost-utility, and cost-benefit to your program design process.

To prepare for this week’s section of Assignment 3:

• Review      the information presented in the Learning Resources (see required reading      list further down below).
• Apply      the use of cost-effectiveness, cost-utility, or cost-benefit to your      program design to determine whether the monies put into your program will      result in positive health outcomes for the population.

To complete:

Write a 3- to 5-page paper* due by 22:00 tomorrow 1/17/18 in APA format with a minimum of 6 scholarly references (See Required Readings list below) that address the following:

1) Budget (developed in Week 7 [see attached file for that assignment])

a) Develop a simple revenue and expense budget for 6 months from start-up and develop a break-even analysis.

b) Articulate a justification for the revenue and expenses indicating where the funds are coming from to support the project and what resources the expenses are related to.

c) Explain any variance from the budget that is not budget neutral.

2) Financial Analysis (developed this week [see attached file for this assignment])

a) Articulate whether the monies put into the program will result in positive health outcomes for the population (resulting from your application of the use of cost-effectiveness, cost-utility, or cost-benefit to the program design process).

* Include tables or graphs in your paper to illustrate budget information.

INSTRUCTIONS

The Case of Marisol

Marisol is a 40-year old single female from a tight knit Puerto Rican family. She is employed full time as a data analyst for a technology company. She has steadily progressed in her career by working for relatively small companies where her role allowed her to work relatively independently. Unfortunately, working for small organizations was less stable financially so she has been working for a larger company for the past four years. Interacting with a larger work group has challenged her comfort zone. She prefers to spend time with a network of close friends she has known most of her life whom she visits with one on one. Her family lives in the area, and she sees them frequently. Her parents and older brother have always provided a support system and practical help. She enjoys quiet evenings alone or at the home of her brother and his family. Her friends and family privately wonder why she’s never dated or wanted to travel.

For each case study, you will complete a descriptive diagnosis using tools you select from the list of assessment tools provided later in the assignment. Each case requires the following information to be addressed:

• Identify presenting concerns from the client’s perspective as described in the video and accompanying narrative. Include relevant cultural and systemic considerations that frame the client’s presentation.
• Describe what information is still needed to make a differential diagnosis and evaluate how at least one assessment tool, which is listed in the List of Assessment Tools resource, will aid in obtaining that information. The Differential Diagnosis Decision Tree may be helpful to guide this process.
• Present DSM-5 and ICD-10 codes, including relevant V and Z codes.
• Provide a descriptive rationale for the DSM diagnosis that best fits the information provided including relevant ICD codes. This should be written in a narrative form using complete sentences. Support your rationale with scholarly sources. Optional readings found in the course syllabus may be particularly relevant.
• Determine if a medication consultation is appropriate and provide a rationale with support from scholarly sources.
