Week 5: Question for Discussion

(Wk # 5: February 2 to February 9 – Main post under Assignment by Wed, February 5 at 11:59 PM EST). 

Students are required to post a minimum of three times per week (1 main post answering the question 100% before Wednesday at 11:59 PM EST and 2 peer responses by Sunday at 11:59 PM EST). The three posts in each individual discussion must be on separate days (same day postings / replies will not be accepted).

Chapter 12 – Massage.

Question(s):  The benefits of massage can be categorized into physical level, mental level and emotional level. Choose one of them and mention at least three benefits of massage in that chosen level. Mention at least 3 contraindications of massage. Have you ever had a massage? What type of massage? Please, tell about your experience. 

Guidelines: The answer should be based on the knowledge obtained from reading the book (only the last part of the question is your opinion/ experience). You must answer all the questions. Your grade will be an average of all parts of the question. 

Grading Criteria: Choose one level and mention at least three benefits of massage (30%- 10 points each). Mention at least 3 contraindications of massage (30% – 10 points each). Have you ever had a massage? What type of massage? Tell about your massage experience (40%).

Professional Practice Paper

Based on the AP role of the person that you interviewed in W1 Project, in a 3- to 5-page paper (excluding the title page, references, and appendices) describe the role, the type of organization, and address all the interview questions, and include:

• -List the type of organization. For example: Primary care office, ED, Specialty, cardiology GI etc.
• -List the type of and how many clients it serves. FP would see all ages. Research in your area the number of visits in a local office per year or # of visits seen local ED, specialty office etc. 
• the professional fit for advanced nursing role. “Fit” refers to the Qualifications in order to be an AP provider at that agency/organization. What license, credentialing (accrediting agency, and other expectations NPI, CMS)?
• -Include a brief job description
• -Discuss board of nursing NPA or scope of practice of the state. Include what the NPA in the state allows and restrictions.
• -Answer the questions one by one, do not just answer them in general.
• -The questions must be answer on one specific Family Nurse Practitioner(just imagine that you are interviewing a real Family Nurse Practitioner).
• -Focus the paper on a Primary Practice clinic like a doctors office and talk primary about the Family Nurse Practitioner.

The ability to communicate effectively is a critical skill for nurse leaders (Roussel, Thomas & Harris, 2016). In the healthcare setting such as a hospital, nurses work various shifts, and communication can be challenging. Nurse leaders will need to utilize fundamental communication skills to achieve organizational goals (Roussel et al.,2016).  There are various traditional ways that leaders can communicate with their staff, such as through emails, text, or even instant messaging (Roussel et al., 2016). Leaders are also finding creative ways to connect with every team members, so the message remains consistent.

One strategy that I would use as a leader to improve communication and empower the members of my team working various shifts is to restructure team huddles. The huddle is a quick meeting given while standing that last approximately fifteen minutes (Johnson, 2018). The huddles can also occur at any time of the day (Johnson, 2018). Providing huddles at various times of the day will allow effective communication with members of the team that works on various days and shifts.

Also, because everyone is assembled, it allows staff to participate in a discussion and give feedback on the information shared. Another way to share information about the magnet designations is to have it displayed as screen savers on the computers nurses use to document. The messaging on the computer screen is a strategy that is used at my workplace to update the employees on new initiatives, and it is useful.

Another strategy is establishing a bulletin board where the staff spends time, such as the break room, nurse’s station, or even restrooms. Ensuring the messaging reaches everyone helps make each member feel part of the team. Another strategy would include leadership rounding. The leader could visit and meet with staff members and provide updates and share information on the magnet designation.

I need help on writing a personal statement as to why i want to go to nursing school 

The letter should be written in the first person, typed, double-spaced and not exceed two pages. It should include a plan for completing any remaining pre-requisites to the major and address the choice of nursing as a career and why the student chose to apply to Madonna University’s program.
