The geopolitical area contains community boundaries, environmental elements, plant life, weather, public transport, wildlife, facilities and homes. The community may be enveloped by mountains or wilderness. Natural disasters and injuries may arise and fluctuate with geographic areas. A geographic information system can be useful for healthcare specialists when identifying geographic or population boundaries. According to Green (2018), Geographic Information System (GIS) “helps to determine where there are disparities, health behaviors, or health deficits in an environment related to the geography of the area.” A phenomenological place is a mental place rather than a geographical place. This place concentrates on history, culture, economics, education, spiritual beliefs, values and common characteristics (GCU, 2018). These ideas establish a perspective in which the participants of the community feel as though they fit in. The community elements are the bases when identifying the community assessment.

According to Green (2018), “Public health nursing focuses on groups, populations, or the health of an entire geographical sector.” Therefore, whole public health utilizes the knowledge to push interventions to enhance stated health disparities. Public health demands are constantly changing and are what make the advancement of programs to enhance public health.

The community assessment involves studying the protection and wellbeing of a community to comprehend the connections among the people, environment, and resources. The nurse uses various methods of assessment of the environment and population before starting programs. The nurse prepares nursing diagnoses for the community created on the results and challenges decided from the community assessment. Public health nursing is motivated by the demands of the population for the prevention of disease and the development of the communities’ health.

The community health nurse must perform a series of actions to identify subjective and objective data and evaluate the information. After understanding the information, the nurse must recognize the demands and create a plan, an intervention and evaluate the data collected.

Topic: Healthful eating and exercise

A.  Describe your intended audience and why the topic is important to this audience (suggested length of 2–5 sentences).

Discussion: Clinical Labs and Instructional Videos

Consider the following scenario:

You have been teaching a clinical lab for a few months. During each session, you have noticed that learners spend more time participating in the introductory part of the lesson and less time involved in problem-based, hands-on activities. After consulting current literature on teaching best-practices, you learn that many instructors require learners to watch introductory videos before participating in clinical labs. These videos ‘set the stage’ for the lesson while also demonstrating the skills in which students will engage during their lab. You know that you will still need to review material at the start of the lab but are excited about the advantages that this video could bring. As such, you begin to search the Internet for a video that will introduce your clinical lab.

To prepare

• Review this week’s Learning Resources. Reflect on the strategies and methods nurse educators use to elicit critical thinking and problem-based learning in clinical lab environments.
• Consider a psychomotor or skills-based technique that an individual might learn in a clinical lab. (Note: Clinical labs are not just for nursing students. Nursing staff and patients might also engage in this environment.)
• With these ideas in mind, search the Internet for a short video demonstration of a clinical lab. (Suggested search key words are clinical nursing skills videos). Once selected, carefully review the video, provide the link to the video, and identify the learning objectives and intended audience of learners. If these are not explicitly stated, use the content of the video to determine the objectives and intended audience.
• Consider how you might use this video demonstration to better prepare learners for an upcoming clinical lab.
• Use the Lesson Plan Template document as a guide to critique, create a lab-based lesson that could accompany the video demonstration that you have selected. 

Nursing is a very highly regulated profession. There are over 100 boards of nursing and national nursing associations throughout the United States and its territories. Their existence helps regulate, inform, and promote the nursing profession. With such numbers, it can be difficult to distinguish between BONs and nursing associations, and overwhelming to consider various benefits and options offered by each.

Both boards of nursing and national nursing associations have significant impacts on the nurse practitioner profession and scope of practice. Understanding these differences helps lend credence to your expertise as a professional. In this Assignment, you will practice the application of such expertise by communicating a comparison of boards of nursing and professional nurse associations. You will also share an analysis of your state board of nursing.

   Nurses assist patients in their pain experience. The pain experience is dependent on many variables, such as age, culture, past experience, duration, and intensity. Although the experience of pain is subjective, nurses choose appropriate pain scales to quantify severity. Pain management is best accomplished by working closely with the health care team and in collaboration with the patient. The Joint Commission (2018) has revised pain assessment and management standards, requiring hospitals to have policies that engage patients in treatment decisions and include at least one non-pharmacological pain treatment modality.
