Obtaining the proper consent is vital and is a legal document that ensures that the provider has explained the type of care that is being rendered. In some cases, if consent has not been obtained before providing services there is no documented proof that the patient consented to treatment.  In the healthcare setting, informed consents are required for medical procedures as it allows the patient to take part in the decision-making process of their care.  Informed consents allow the provider to explain the treatment plan which the patient can ask questions, deny or accept treatment. There are three types of Informed consents: Implied consent does not need to be documented as it refers to a patient passively agreeing to treatment without having a formal consent or discussion. For example, if a patient fasted for 24 hours before surgery it can be implied that they have consented to treatment. Verbal consent is when a signed document is not obtained. The patient verbally consents to treatment typically the patient records have been obtained. This consenting process is mainly used for routine care such as diagnostic testing. Written consent: A written consent is necessary in case of extensive intervention involving risks where anesthesia or sedation is used, restorative procedures, any invasive or surgical procedures, administering of medications with known high risks, and so on (Kakar, 2014).In the doctor’s office that I currently work for, if a signed (written) consent by the patient or their legal guardian has not been received prior to treatment, services are not rendered.  We take great pride in explaining the services and ensuring that all of our patients understand and are able to ask questions before services are rendered.

Leadership Theory and Process | 2025 Custom Writing

Discussion 1: Leadership Theory and ProcessInitially, the concept of leadership focused on an individual who organized a group of people to achieve a goal. Today, however, leadership is depicted in a different way. The field focuses not only on an individual leader, but also on members, supervisors, and followers representing a spectrum of diversity. During the evolution of leadership, several theories, models, and perspectives have emerged. As a human and social services professional, it is important to consider how different theories, models, and perspectives of leadership might be used to achieve professional and societal goals. To prepare:· Consider the issue you selected for your Capstone Project. Select a leadership theory, model, or perspective and think about how it might be applied to your issue. With these thoughts in mind:By Day 3Post a brief description of your professional or societal issue and the leadership theory, model, or perspective you selected. Then, explain why you chose that theory, model, or perspective, and explain how it might be applied to your issue. Be specific, and use processes of that theory, model, or perspective to illustrate your point.I have chosen to do my Capstone Project on a national organization the United Way of Central Carolinas (UWCC). An organization that focuses on helping make measurable changes in communities through strengthening the cornerstones for a good quality of life with education, financial stability and health of every person in every community. The reason I chose to focus on UWCC is that it’s a local organization which provides nationwide assistance to every community and family which is a passion for me if I can assist to lead anyone towards a better life.  My strategic plan for this project will be to develop from the perspective of mainly on a social change level. The reason is UWCC deals with strengthening change and resolving issues with the help of partnerships with business, financial institutions, and government agencies which can lead to social change (United Way n.d).For my Capstone Project, the societal issue that I would like to address is change management is a systematic approach accommodating assessment, preparation, planning and implementation of the changes that accommodate ethical considerations (Burke, 2008). Confidentiality and privacy are essentially social and services professional issues that affect individual performance and ethical considerations. Notably, in professional practices within human and social services, the concern of privacy and confidentiality acknowledges proper consideration, indulging practitioners to embrace fundamental honest articulation towards change management. For example, as a human and social services professional, I would collect relevant information concerning human and socialization concepts. Thus, there would be a need for effective management of clients’ data with consideration to confidentiality and privacy concerns.References to useAvolio, B. J., Walumbwa, F. O., & Weber, T. J. It is not only unethical to perform any type of medical treatment or procedure without patient consent, but it is illegal. Informed consent, implied consent, verbal consent, and written consent are the various types of consent in healthcare.Informed Consent: the patient is given a clear and complete understanding of the treatment or care they are about to receive and to help the patient make the right decision regarding their healthcare. An example is the patient has read over the consent form and all information regarding the treatment or procedure has been disclosed. Informed consent must be given willingly and not under pressure.Implied Consent: Understanding and following the healthcare professional’s directions during routine procedures. An example would be extending your arm so a lab technician can take blood for lab work.Verbal Consent: When the patient gives verbal consent to receive treatment. An example is when you verbally give permission to receive any form of medical treatment.Written Consent: When the patient gives written consent for a medical treatment or procedure with high risk factors. An example would be if a patient has to have surgery. The healthcare provider has an obligation to explain the risks and benefits of the procedure to the patient as well as gaining written consent from the patient before performing the surgery.I worked in the healthcare field as a X-ray technologist and a Detox Coordinator. My work required me to get consent form every patient. Exposing people to radiation and controlling heroin requires both informed and written consent.ReferenceACT Government (2020). Informed Consent. You noted “…The Baldrige award is a better predictor of organizational success…” Whereas your observation seems logical, your observation is not supported by research unless you have found some research that I haven’t been able to find. Conversely, there is a body of research that supports the assertion that employee engagement (like Best Places to Work) is indeed correlated to positive financial results. Two studies, reported by Kenexa (2008) noted:The relationship between employee engagement and annual net income was explored in 64 organizations. After controlling for organization size, the analyses showed that organizations with highly engaged employees achieve twice the annual net income of organizations whose employees lag behind on engagementThe relationship between employee engagement and TSR was examined in 39 separate . The results indicate that organizations with highly engaged employees achieve seven times greater 5-year TSR than organizations whose employees are less engaged.Schneider and Macey (2009) described a study where engagement of employees in certain industries and companies compared to financial results and customer satisfaction results. In their study of the airline, hospitality, and telecom industries, there was a direct correlation between an index of financial results and employee engagement. Can anyone share research that correlates winning the Baldrige Award to sustained exceptional financial performance?ReferencesKenexa (2008). Some of company that received the Baldrige Award and continue to have sustained organizational success are Memorial Hospital Healthcare Center, Tri County Tech, and Adventists Health Castle. I would like to work for Cisco a Fortune Best Place to Work winner because 98% of employees say its a great place to work and that they are able to take time off when they feel it is necessary.ReferencesBaldrige Performance Excellence Program(2019).https://www.nist.gov/baldrige/how-baldrige-worksHastwell, C. Discussion 1: Domestic Violence | 2025

Discussion 1: Domestic Violence | 2025 Custom Writing

Mia, a 22-year-old Army wife, was stationed in Fort Benning with her husband, Joe, her 5-year-old daughter, and her 1-year-old son. She was married at 18 after having her first child. Mia grew up in a small town in Arkansas with her mother and two sisters. She has a high school diploma and previously worked as a cashier before meeting Joe. When they met, she fell instantly in love and she was thrilled about the opportunity to move out of her town and see the world. Joe was 8 years older than Mia and had been deployed twice to Afghanistan. He was born and raised by a military father and lived and breathed the Army values and codes. He tired of his wife depending so much on him, but he was willing to work through it.Fort Benning was their first station and she was new to the military way of life. She was overwhelmed at first but became very comfortable with the other wives. She made fast friends with several of them. Her relationship with Joe seemed blissful, until he started to make demands about whom she was allowed to befriend or where she was allowed to go shopping. Also, Joe began to ask her to speak in a certain tone and not to argue with him over minor issues in the house. Mia started to feel confined and restless. During her second pregnancy, she was feeling uncomfortable as she lay in bed and asked Joe to get her a glass of water. He refused to get up and she had gotten angry. When he grew tired of her pleas, he flipped her over off the bed onto the floor, sat on her legs and punched her in the face. She never reported him. Three months later, he pushed her into a wall. She finally confided in another military spouse who also shared her own experiences with other military spouses suffering with abusive husbands.Domestic violence is not uncommon in military communities, and there are many stressors or factors that contribute to these situations outside of combat trauma. For this Discussion, review this week’s resources. Consider what stressors contribute to the prevalence of domestic violence.By Day 3 (2 to 3 pages)Post your perspective on why there is a high prevalence of domestic violence in the military. Provide a scholarly article to support your response. Describe two stressors outside of combat reactions that might contribute to domestic violence. Explain one way combat reactions might contribute to the prevalence of domestic violence. Finally, as a social worker, describe one aspect you might focus on to reduce the prevalence of domestic violence among military families.Be sure to support your post with specific references to the resources.
