Initial Post Instructions

For the initial post, respond to one of the following options, and label the beginning of your post indicating either Option 1 or Option 2:

Option 1: The framers of the Constitution were concerned that everyday citizens would not be able to understand or comprehend the makings of our government. They felt that everyday citizens were uninformed and did not care what was going on in our government. Even today we see where citizens are interested in government affairs seemingly only if our country is in turmoil such as unemployment, recessions, civil unrest, etc. Do you agree with this assessment? Are we uninformed? Do we wait till a crisis happens to voice our opinions?

Option 2: Many experts see the media as biased and more like infotainment. In fact, many people have turned to social networks as an outlet for news instead of CBS, NBC, FOX, CNN and other news stations. Do you see this as an issue? Do you see the news as biased or unbiased? Should there be more restrictions on the news stations?

Be sure to make connections between your ideas and conclusions and the research, concepts, terms, and theory we are discussing this week.

In Week 4, we will conclude our discussion of strategic planning by exploring the final steps in the planning process. During this week, we will learn how to integrate the marketing plan with the business and strategic plan. Likewise, this last week will also explore the issues strategy and marketing are facing in healthcare and final thoughts on creating a mental model for market planning.

Instructions
This week you will use your readings from the past two weeks as a point of departure to create your own artistic production and a reflection paper.

Part 1: Art Creation
Select one of the visual art pieces from Chapters 1-6 or the lessons from Weeks 1-3 to use as a point of inspiration. Create a painting, sculpture, drawing, or work of architecture inspired by your selected art piece.

Part 2: Reflection
Write a reflection about the relationship between your art production and the inspiration piece. Include the following in the reflection paper:

• Introduction
• Inspiration Piece
  • Include image.
  • Record the title, artist, year, and place of origin.
  • Briefly explain the background of the inspiration piece.
• Your Art Piece
  • Include image.
  • Provide a title.
  • Explain the background of your piece.
• Connection
  • Explain the thematic connection between the two pieces.
  • How are they similar and different?
  • Are they the same medium? How does the medium impact what the viewer experiences?
  • How do the formal elements of design compare to one another?

Original Artwork Requirements

• Methods: paint, watercolor, pencil, crayon, marker, collage, clay, metal, or wood (Check with your instructor about other methods you have in mind.)
• No computer-generated pieces

Writing Requirements (APA format)

• Length: 1.5-2 pages (not including title page, references page, or image of artwork)
• 1-inch margins
• Double spaced
• 12-point Times New Roman font
• Title page
• References page (minimum of 1 scholarly source- in addition to the textbook)

1. This assignment has 3 parts to it:
   1. Write a 1000-word essay summarizing each of the two different charts below, how they will be used in your chosen career, proposed improvements and better ways this information could be conveyed. Separate each section in your paper with a clear heading that allows your professor to know which bullet you are addressing in that section of your paper. Support your ideas with at least one (1) citation in your essay. Make sure to reference the citations using the APA writing style for the essay. The cover page and reference page do not count towards the minimum word amount. Review the rubric criteria for this assignment.
   2. SOAP Charting
      1. Your assignment is to include the list below and put the items in a SOAP format. You will want to research to find a form of your choice. You may add words to make sentences out of some of these items. When you get done, you should be able to view the notes and have a picture of this patient and know the next steps. Make sure that you have the needed information from your research of SOAP notes.
         1. John Smith, DOB 08-10-1951 came into the clinic to see Dr. Jerry Jones. Below are notes taken during Mr. Smith’s visit.
         2. Blood Pressure: 165/85
         3. Patient complains of left arm pain.
         4. Complains of leg weakness and increases with going up steps
         5. Diagnosis: Hypertension, bilateral edema legs, and ankles, Heart Disease, Diabetes
         6. Elevate legs for 1 hour 4 times a day
         7. Height: 182 cm
         8. Inflammation on both lower legs
         9. Pain is aching
         10. Pain is better when I elevate my legs
         11. Pain is worse at night
         12. Peripheral edema, both ankles
         13. Prescribe Hydrochlorothiazide, 25 mg tablet, 1 per day in the am.
         14. Pulse Oximetry: 97%
         15. Pulse: 60 bpm
         16. Rate pain 5 out of 10
         17. Respiration: 16 bpm
         18. Return for follow-up in two weeks
         19. Temperature: 98.5
         20. Wear support stockings till next appointment
         21. Weight: 165 kg
         22. X-rays show no fractures
   3. PIE Charting Assignment
      1. Review the bottom of page 160 of your text for patient charting using the PIE method. Using your creative mind, create a problem, provide interventions, and identify the results (evaluation). Your problem should include a paragraph (min 100 words), interventions (at least two – min 100 words) and evaluation is a paragraph (min 100 words).
2. Assignment ExpectationsLength: 1000-word essay plus each of the charts.Structure: Submit the appropriate format for each item. Include a title page and reference page in APA style. These do not count towards the minimal word amount for this assignment.References: Use the appropriate APA style in-text citations and references for all resources utilized to answer the questions.
