2. Using the city of Hialeah identify an epidemiological and surveillance data related to population based communicable illnesses ( HEPATITIS b,INFLUENZA AND  HPV). Besides the illnesses describe you can also choose influenza or any other illnesses that are currently affecting your community.

4. Choose 3 population based communicable illness and prepare an analysis discussing how this 3-communicable illness affect your community and how they were identified and a plan of action to contained them base on healthy people 2020.

5. Presentation must be in APA format word document, Arial 12 font attach to the forum/thread in the assignment tab and turnitin with a minimum of 1000 words (excluding first and references page) with a minimum of 3 evidence based references (excluding the class textbook) no older than 5 years are required. The assignment must include the zip code of the city or county chosen. Follow the APA example paper that was sent to you at the beginning of the course for guidance. Make sure references are use according to APA guidelines and electronic references must be from reliable sources such as CDC. I agree with you that over use of NSAIDS is probable for his development of peptic ulcer disease (PUD).  All though Mr. C is essentially taking three medications, the dosing schedule really requires a high level of compliance. It is very important to stress the importance of maintaining a steady regime.  Some of the complications of PUD include “bleeding, perforation, and gastric outlet obstruction with hemorrhage being the most common complication” (Fashner & Gitu, 2015).

Before Mr. C would undergo surgery, he would need an extensive psychosocial evaluation to determine if he is an appropriate candidate. During the examination, several aspects of Mr. C’s life would be assessed, such as, eating pattern, history of weight loss attempts, family history, substance use history, cognition, social support, coping skills, adherence and motivation/expectation about the surgery (Marek et al., 2016, p. 1143). As someone in the medical field, I would want to know how serious Mr. C was about wanting to lose weight and have him on a trial diet regimen for a few months to see if he can be compliant. I wouldn’t suggest that he undergoes bariatric surgery if he was unwilling to change his lifestyle prior to the procedure.

 like that you brought up a mental health issue with Mr. C as one of his actual/potential problems. There have been many studies regarding obesity and mental illness and it made me look deeper into research. I read in a recent study that lack of exercise can decrease serotonin synthesis and worsen depression and anxiety (Lu et al., 2018, p. 4). Also, because of the stigmatism of obesity, some people become socially isolated and are less likely to eat healthy (Lu et al., 2018, p. 4). On the other hand, depression and/or anxiety could’ve begun 2 to 3 years ago for Mr. C and therefore has resulted in the increased weight gain.  

The article illustrates exactly why we need to ensure ethics is a part of all research.

1. Do benefits of this research outweigh the cost to participants- what is the overall risk/benefit ratio. 

2. Would participants be considered vulnerabl? Were they subject to any physical harm, discomfort or psychological distress due to this study. 

3. Did researchers make efforts to minimize harm, maximize good.

4. Was appropriate informed consent procedures used? Was there full disclosure, was participant voluntary? Does any report discuss steps that were taken to protect privacy confidentiality of study participants. 

5. Were participants deceived in any way. Were they coerced into participating in study? 

 
Present a basic case in which an individual would wish to change a long-term health behavior? For example, a 39-year-old female wishes to stop her two-pack-a-day smoking habit which she has had for 10 years. Using various models and theories of behavioral change help create strategies for modifying the patient’s behaviors. Explain the process/methods that could be used to accomplish this goal. Predict how long this may take and what challenges may present themselves? Review three peers’ postings and provide constructive feedback on additional changes which could be beneficial as well as additional insight.
