Required Resources Read/review the following resources for this activity: Textbook: Chapter 11, 12 Lesson Minimum of 2 scholarly sources in addition to the textbook. Instructions This assignment is comprised of 2 parts, the first of which is due this week. Part II will be due in Week 7. In Part I this week, choose a case from your state that involves civil rights or civil liberties that wound its way up to the United States Supreme Court. If your state does not have a case that ended up in the United States Supreme Court, choose a civil rights case from another state that ended up in the Supreme Court of the United States. Here is a brief description of civil rights and civil liberties: Civil rights refers to equal social opportunities under the law. Civil liberties mean freedom of religion, equal treatment and due process under the law, and the right to privacy. You should be able to go online and look up your state and famous cases that ended up in the Supreme Court. For example, Brown v Board of Education (1951) started in Topeka, Kansas and ended up in the Supreme Court of the United States. Another example would be Calvary Chapel Dayton Valley v Steve Sisolak, Governor of Nevada (2020) that started in Nevada and ended up the United States Supreme Court. Research your court case and write an outline of the case that you will be using to prepare a presentation, which will either be a narrated PowerPoint, a Kaltura Video, or some other format as approved by your instructor. Be sure to verify the presentation format with your instructor before starting work on this assignment . This week’s assignment should include (a) summary of the case; (b) a case outline; and a summary. A. Summary of the Case In one or two paragraphs, provide a general overview of the case that serves as a snapshot of what the case is about and how it ended up in your state high court. A summary is using your words to write a brief history of the case. Do not give your opinion or your interpretation but stick to the facts only. B: Case Outline Your court case outline should include: Title: Name of the case Facts of the case: Provide key facts involving the case. History of the case: What legal action was taken based on what your state laws say about this case? Legal questions: What were the legal issues the court had to decide? Decision or holdings: Did the court decide for the plaintiff or the defendant? Explain the reason behind the decision? Verdict and opinion (judgement): What were the concurring and dissenting opinions? How many judges decided for the defendant and how many justices decided against the defendant? What was the final verdict from the judge or the jury, if it was a jury trial? C. Conclusion What was the resulting impact of the ruling? How did the citizens of your state benefit from it? Was this a good decision?

Evidenced Based Reply 2 Week 1 2025

Rosemary Velez 4:34pm Oct 23 at 4:34pm Manage Discussion Entry Professor Eby and Class, “Nursing research is a systemic process of inquiry that uses rigorous guidelines to produce unbiased, trustworthy answers to questions about nursing practice” ( Houser, 2018, pg. 5). Nurses can improve quality of life for patients by finding solutions to problems by implementing Evidence based practice and nursing research. Nursing practices that are based on research uses a common format called the PICOT method. According to Riva, Malik, Burnie, Endicott, and Busse, ( 2012), ” Clinicians interested in research pursuits, related to patient care, should consider the use of a literature research and the PICOT format when engaging clinical researchers.” This method allows those researching the direction needed to answer questions of most importance. Upon reading case studies from our reading by Kumar, ( 2015), I chose the middle aged active woman with type 2 diabetes. PICOT Question: Can the use of Degludec insulin and dietary modification control blood sugar and reduce hypoglycemic episodes better than the use of another type of insulin with dietary modification in middle aged active females with type 2 Diabetes? P: Active middle aged women with type 2 Diabetes I:  Use of Degludec insulin and dietary modification C: Use of insulin pump and dietary modification O: Better glycemic control and decreased hypoglycemic episodes T:  2 months The focus point of this question would be treatment related. This case study proved that through the use of Degludec insulin therapy, and lifestyle changes, the desired outcome were proved in this 2 month trial, thus allowing this patient to maintain as normal a lifestyle as possible with this treatment. Though the insulin pump worked well for her, it did not mesh well with her current activities. Rose Velez Burnie, S.J., Busse, J.W., Riva, J.J., Endicott, A.R., & Malik, K.M.( 2012). MSN-Nurse Practitioner work Discussion: Maladaptive Responses to Immune Disorders Maladaptive responses to disorders are compensatory mechanisms that ultimately have adverse health effects for patients. For instance, a patient’s allergic reaction to peanuts might lead to anaphylactic shock, or a patient struggling with depression might develop a substance abuse problem. To properly diagnose and treat patients, advanced practice nurses must understand both the pathophysiology of disorders and potential maladaptive responses that some disorders cause. Consider immune disorders such as HIV, psoriasis, inflammatory bowel disease, and systemic lupus E. What are resulting maladaptive responses for patients with these disorders? To Prepare · Review Chapter 6 and Chapter 8 in the Huether and McCance text. Reflect on the concept of maladaptive responses to disorders. · Select two of the following immune disorders: HIV, psoriasis, inflammatory bowel disease, or systemic lupus E (SLE). · Identify the pathophysiology of each disorder you selected. Consider the compensatory mechanisms that the disorders trigger. Then compare the resulting maladaptive and physiological responses of the two disorders. · Select one of the following factors: genetics, gender, ethnicity, age, or behavior. Reflect on how the factor might impact your selected immune disorders. Post a brief description of the pathophysiology of your selected immune disorders. Explain how the maladaptive and physiological responses of the two disorders differ. Finally, explain how the factor you selected might impact the pathophysiology of each disorder.
