The paper is already wriitten, just needs editing. Thanks Critiquing the validity and robustness of research featured in journal articles provides a critical foundation for engaging in evidence-based practice. In Weeks 5 and 6, you explored quantitative research designs. In Week 7, you will examine qualitative and mixed methods research designs. For this Assignment, which is due by Day 7 of Week 7, you critique a quantitative and either a qualitative or a mixed methods research study and compare the types of information obtained in each. To prepare: •Select a health topic of interest to you that is relevant to your current area of practice. The topic may be your Course Portfolio Project or a different topic of your choice. •Using the Walden Library, locate two articles in scholarly journals that deal with your portfolio topic: 1) Select one article that utilizes a quantitative research design and 2) select a second article that utilizes either a qualitative OR a mixed methods design. These need to be single studies not systematic or integrative reviews (including meta-analysis and metasynthesis). You may use research articles from your reference list. If you cannot find these two types of research on your portfolio topic, you may choose another topic. Polit, D. F., & Beck, C. T. (2017). Nursing research: Generating and assessing evidence for nursing practice (10th ed.). Philadelphia, PA: Wolters Kluwer. •Chapter 10, “Rigor and Validity in Quantitative Research” This chapter introduces the concept of validity in research and describes the different types of validity that must be addressed. Key threats to validity are also explored. •Chapter 11, “Specific Types of Quantitative Research” This chapter focuses on the specific types of quantitative research that can be selected. The focus is on the purpose of the research rather than the research design. These include such approaches as clinical trials, evaluation research, health services and outcomes research, needs assessments, or replication studies. Cantrell, M. A. (2011). Begin to draft a paper in which you analyze the two research approaches as indicated below. Reflect on the overall value of both quantitative and qualitative research. If someone were to say to you, “Qualitative research is not real science,” how would you respond? To complete this Assignment: •Complete the two critiques using the appropriate templates. •Write a 2- to 3-page paper that addresses the following: •Contrast the types of information that you gained from examining the two different research approaches in the articles that you selected.◦Describe the general advantages and disadvantages of the two research approaches featured in the articles. Use examples from the articles for support. ◦Formulate a response to the claim that qualitative research is not real science. Highlight the general insights that both quantitative and qualitative studies can provide to researchers. Support your response with references to the Learning Resources and other credible sources. •As you complete this Assignment, remember to: •Submit your paper to Grammarly and SafeAssign through the Walden Writing Center. Based on the Grammarly and SafeAssign reports, revise your paper as necessary. •Reminder: The School of Nursing requires that all papers submitted include a title page, introduction, summary, and references. The paper is already wriitten, just needs editing. Thanks Planning for Data Collection Data collection is an important part of both quantitative and qualitative research. Although the actual approach to gathering information may vary, for either research design, researchers need to plan in advance how the data will be gathered, reported, and stored, and they need to ensure that their methods are both reliable and valid. As nurses review research when considering a new evidence-based practice, it is important to be familiar with sound collection practices in order to ascertain the credibility of the data presented. Consider the following scenario: Nurses and other health care professionals are often interested in assessing patient satisfaction with health care services. Imagine that you are a nurse working in a suburban primary care setting that serves 10,000 patients annually. Your organization is very interested in understanding the patient’s point of view to help determine areas of care that can be improved. With this focus in mind, consider how you would create a survey to assess patient satisfaction with the services your organization provides. You may wish to consider variables such as the ease of accessing care, patient wait time, friendliness of the staff, or the likelihood that a patient would recommend your organization to others. For this Discussion, you generate questions and an overall plan for data collection that would be appropriate for a patient satisfaction survey in relation to the above scenario. To prepare: Consider the guidelines for generating questions presented in this week’s Learning Resources. Review the scenario and formulate at least five questions that you could use to evaluate patient satisfaction. Reflect on the different methods or instruments that can be used for gathering data described in Chapter 13 and Chapter 22 of the course text. Which methods or instruments would work well for the scenario? Determine an appropriate sample size for the scenario. Post the questions that you created for gathering information about patient satisfaction based on the above scenario. Explain which method or instrument you would use to gather data. Describe the sample size appropriate for the population and how you would select participants. Provide a rationale for your choices, and explain how you can ensure high standard of reliability and validity. Required Readings Polit, D. F., & Beck, C. T. (2017). Chapter 12, “Sampling in Quantitative Research” This chapter introduces key concepts concerning sampling in quantitative research. This includes such concepts as a description of populations, different types of sampling and their uses, and how to determine a manageable, yet sufficient number to be included in a sample. The chapter also includes suggestions for implementing a sampling plan. Chapter 13, “Data Collection in Quantitative Research” Once a sampling design is complete, the next step is to collect the data, and this is the focus of Chapter 13. The chapter describes how to develop a data collection plan, and provides information about the different types of instruments that can be used, such as structured observation and biophysiologic measures. Chapter 22, “Sampling in Qualitative Research” The focus of this chapter is on the sampling process in qualitative research. The chapter describes the different types of sampling and when they are commonly used. Sampling techniques in the three main qualitative traditions (ethnography, phenomenological studies and grounded theory studies) are highlighted. Chapter 23, “Data Collection in Qualitative Research” This chapter examines the process of data collection in qualitative research as well as key issues surrounding data collection. This includes such methods as self-reporting, surveys, interviews, and personal journal keeping. The chapter also highlights important considerations when utilizing unstructured observations to gather data and how to record field notes. Keough, V. A., & Tanabe, P. (2011). PLEASE FOLLOW EVERY INSTRUCTION TO COMPLETE THE ASSIGMENT CORRECTLY.. BELLOW ARE ATTACHED TEMPLATES DOCUMENTS AS A GUIDE TO COMPLETE THE ASSIGMENT CORRECTLY..USE GRADING RUBRIC TO COMPLETE THE ASSIGMENT. Details: The first step of the EBP process is to develop a question from the nursing practice problem of interest. Select a practice problem of interest to use as the focus of your research. Start with the patient and identify the clinical problems or issues that arise from clinical care. Following the PICOT format, write a PICOT statement in your selected practice problem area of interest, which is applicable to your proposed capstone project. The PICOT statement will provide a framework for your capstone project (the project students must complete during their final course in the RN-BSN program of study). Conduct a literature search to locate research articles focused on your selected practice problem of interest. This literature search should include both quantitative and qualitative peer-reviewed research articles to support your practice problem. Select six peer-reviewed research articles which will be utilized through the next 5 weeks as reference sources. Be sure that some of the articles use qualitative research and that some use quantitative research. Create a reference list in which the six articles are listed. Beneath each reference include the article’s abstract. The completed assignment should have a title page and a reference list with abstracts. Suggestions for locating qualitative and quantitative research articles from credible sources: Use a library database such as CINAHL Complete for your search. Using the advanced search page check the box beside “Research Article” in the “Limit Your Results” section. When setting up the search you can type your topic in the top box, then add quantitative or qualitative as a search term in one of the lower boxes. Research articles often are described as qualitative or quantitative. To narrow/broaden your search, remove the words qualitative and quantitative and include words that narrow or broaden your main topic. For example: Diabetes and pediatric and dialysis. To determine what research design was used, review the abstract and the methods section of the article. The author will provide a description of data collection using qualitative or quantitative methods. Prepare this assignment according to the guidelines found in the APA Style Guide, located in the Student Success Center. An abstract is not required. This assignment uses a rubric. Please review the rubric prior to beginning the assignment to become familiar with the expectations for successful completion.

case analysis of health counseling skills as a helper and as a client 2025

essay character study Hope is 17-year-old female in high school who is half Mexican and half Russian. She lives with her father after he mother walked away from them at the age of 5. She has one older sister from her father and her mother. Then she has two half brothers from her father’s new marriage. Her older sister moved across the country when Hope was 15 years old. Hope has a very close relationship with her grandmother who looked after her most of her life. Growing up in a fast pace urban city like New York, Hope feels she doesn’t need to be in school to get a good paying job. She barley finished school with a GED and has no interest perusing college. Hope did go to church and was an active member in a youth group for a couple of years but then gradually as she got older, she stopped going to church and began questioning the idea of God. Hope grew up with out a mother but she had her grandmother and it helped her cope not having her actual mother there for her. She loves her father dearly and wants nothing but happiness for him. Her relationship with her father was strong and she is very open with him because she felt very comfortable telling him anything. Hope was around her father’s side of the family often therefore she identifies as being more Mexican than Russian. Although she identifies being Mexican she clearly resembles features from her mother’s side. From her blue eyes and long brown hair, her father had mention to her that she is an exact copy of her mother, physically. Hope feels lost and cannot clearly direct her self in a path that will help her succeed in the future. All she does all day is sleep and drink alcohol. She feels that drinking makes the emptiness goes away. Every holiday her father tries to avoid buying alcohol for the festivities for Hope’s sake but she has friends that would buy it for her. Her father does not like her friends but he believes if he tries to take action in her life that he would just end up loosening her just the way he lost his first daughter. Most of Hope’s friends are bad influences on her but she does have other friends she met at the youth group. The youth group had tried to get her from coming back again but she constantly ignores their messages. Hope feels like a loner sometimes and feel like no one in the world would understand her. When someone does try to get to know her she pushes them away because she fears of getting to attach to them and then they abandon her. Hope has a job at Walgreens as a cashier but lately her manager is not too happy with her. He claims she is always coming in late with a hangover. In high school her art teacher had told her she had a gift and if she wanted a recommendation letter that would be more than happy to do it. Hope wanted to go to art school but after her older sister left the house during a big dispute with her father she no longer felt motivated to go anymore. Since then secretly at night she would sneak out of the house to drink with her friends and her father would have no idea. Her stepmother was nice to her but never cared enough to ask Hope how she was feeling. Hope constantly feels sad and anxious, to cope with her feelings she would drink alcohol until she passed out. Hope came home one day extremely drunk and woke up her baby brother by knocking down the TV on the floor. Her stepmother was upset and kicked her out of the house while her father was away on a business trip. Hope went to an old friend for a place to stay and her friend Emily accepted her into her house but as long as Hope seeks for help from a counselor. Hope understand she has a problem but she does not believe it will work because she has seen a counselor when she was young around the time her mother left because she would not stop crying. Ever since then Hope build a wall around her emotions and hasn’t shed a tear since then. ——————————————————————————————————————————— session notes, track, the following information . 1 – a brief description of your client / your helper , including age, gender, general life circumstances, occupation, etc. 2- a brief description of your relationship with the client/helper. 2025 I NEED A POSITIVE COMMENT BASEDIN THIS ARGUMENT BETWEEN 150 200 WORDS Per Course notes org the sampling theory

COMMENT MARIA 2025

I NEED A POSITIVE COMMENT BASEDIN THIS ARGUMENT..BETWEEN 150-200 WORDS Per Course-notes.org the sampling theory is defined as a field of statistics that is involved with the collection, analysis and interpretation of data collected from random samples of a population. In other words, if we want to study all people with schizophrenia in Arizona, how would we do it? It is nearly impossible to study all of them- or the entire population that have schizophrenia, therefore, only a small part of the population is going to be studied, this is a sample. Generality can be defined as the research findings and conclusions from a study conducted on a sample population applied to the population at large. In other words, generalizability depends on the degree to which the sample result can represent of the population. As an example, the researcher studies a sample of people with schizophrenia from Arizona than applies the results to a larger population with schizophrenia. Or a nurse studies a sample of population who had a fall in Progressive Care Unit in the last 5 years and applies the results to the entire population admitted to PCU. Some requirements of generality are the need to have a study sample that represents some population of interest in our case people with schizophrenia, to understand the contexts in which the studies are done and how these studies influence the results. However, it does not matter how carefully researchers are during the research, there is no absolute guarantee that the results obtained in a study will occur in every situation outside the study. 1 page due in 12 hours. Chose 1 topic 2025

only need 1 page and choose 1 topic not both Assisgnment Topic 1 Personal Philosophy: From your readings about teaching and learning theories, develop and discuss your personal philosophy of teaching in nursing. Or Topic 2 Recall a clinical learning experience you enjoyed. Describe the experience and identify specific aspects such as educational setting, motivational strategy, learning theory, and delivery of content (how was the material presented). Also this (copy and pasted below) is her example of the topics. Just to give you an idea. Topic One A variety of authors, in addition to my personal experiences, have contributed to my philosophy of learning and teaching, an amalgam of humanist and feminist influences. As a humanist, I believe that the motivation to learn is driven by the learner’s needs, a positive self-concept, and a desire to grow. As a feminist, I believe that learning is enhanced when heart and mind are connected. Through a combination of these philosophies, I have conceptualized a personal learning and teaching philosophy that promotes what Grauerholz refers to as “deep learning,” leading to “profound meaningful and lasting shifts in cognition, attitudes, emotions, and values.” (Grauerholz, 2001, pg. 44) Learning takes place on multiple levels, through multiple ways of knowing, which are unique to each individual and must be attended to by the teacher. Learning is a personal transaction, both between the learner and facilitator and between the learner and the material being learned. As a humanist and feminist, I believe my role as educator is to encourage curiosity, promote a positive self-concept, respect individuality and freedom of choice, and, most importantly, to be a facilitator, rather than an authority. My role is to promote a partnership in learning, fostering a non-judgmental atmosphere of mutual respect and trust. As a humanistic feminist educator, my instructional strategies are grounded in an appreciation of the various learning and personality styles of my students. They include a diversity of didactic methods, group projects, and peer mentoring. As an educator, my goal is to always include the five elements of humanistic teaching described by Chou et al – availability to my students, a caring teacher/student relationship, authenticity in my interactions, empowerment of my students’ learning, and a transformative curriculum which cultivates and liberates my students. Humanistic learning; Journal of Humanistic Education & Development, 35(3), 130-134. Topic Two The clinical learning experience that I recall most clearly took place in a small community hospital where I had a group of 8 third semester associate degree nursing students. One of our patients required Continuous Ambulatory Peritoneal Dialysis (CAPD), a procedure that I personally had not done in a few years. The primary nurse for that patient was a graduate of my nursing program and she had never done the procedure, either in school or as a clinician. The student had also not done CAPD, nor had she had that content yet during that semester. So this was going to be a re-learning experience for me and a learning experience for the other two people. To add to the mix, the patient herself was quite proficient at the procedure but due to her hospitalization was unable to perform it on her own. So this increased the anxiety for my student even more! The motivation for this learning experience was two-fold. First and foremost, to accomplish the procedure correctly and on time. Second, to have the student and/or the staff nurse perform as much of the procedure as possible. All of us were motivated by the desire to safely perform the task and feel comfortable to do the procedure the next time. My learning theory was based on constructivism, in which “learners create personal meaning from new information. In other words, they attempt to create a comfortable cognitive niche for the new information based on what they believe to be real and true in the world.”(SUO 2014) I needed to make sure both the student and primary nurse were fully comfortable with the procedure. My delivery of the content was a form peer coaching, in which “feedback provided by a trusted mentor is specific and directed at helping the protégé improve a particular performance or behavior. In that regard, it is collegial and not competitive, professional and not social, dynamic and not static.” (SUO 2014) I had the student pull the policy and procedure from the files and both she and the nurse read it thoroughly. After gathering the equipment, the three of us entered the room. The nurse explained to the patient that she and the student would be performing the procedure while I read the steps out loud. This was satisfactory for the patient, so we proceeded and had a successful outcome, not only for the patient, but for the student and the nurse. I was able to provide them with feedback later in a private setting, and both expressed a greater degree of comfort with the procedure. References South University.
