Conceptual Frameworks/models and literature reviews are key components of the research process and an integral part of Evidenced Based Practice. 

Conceptual frameworks or models guide how a study is conducted.   A literature review compiles and evaluates the research available on a certain topic or issue that you are researching and writing about.

1.     Review the EBP models  Chapter 14 in your text book.

2.     Choose 1 frame and briefly define the model.

3.     Find 2 current research studies that utilize your chosen model.

4.     Summarize how the model is used in the studies.

5.     Develop a 2-3-page paper addressing the above.

A title and reference page are required and are not included in the page count.

This assignment should be written in APA format.

A minimum of 2 peer-reviewed references are required.  References must be current, published within the last five years, and from the United States. (Your text book may be used as a source but does not count toward the 2 required references).

An abstract is not required for this writing assignment.

This assignment is worth 5% of your final grade.

 

Choose a topic related to health that has meaning to your personal health, interests, and well-being. This may be a disease, such as diabetes, or a healthy fitness activity.

Conduct a database search comparing one of the following database directories with Google Scholar.

• CINAHL and Google Scholar
• PubMed and Google Scholar

Explain how you were able to narrow down the number of article hits you had initially, and present within your post a summary of the credible article you chose as your resource. How do you know your article choice is credible? Which database do you prefer and why?

How will using a database search facilitate your:

• scholarly work;
• nursing work (evidence-based practice); and
• personal self-development?

 

PICOT Question Paper

Review your problem or issue and the study materials to formulate a PICOT question for your capstone project change proposal. A PICOT question starts with a designated patient population in a particular clinical area and identifies clinical problems or issues that arise from clinical care. The intervention used to address the problem must be a nursing practice intervention. Include a comparison of the nursing intervention to a patient population not currently receiving the nursing intervention, and specify the timeframe needed to implement the change process.  Formulate a PICOT question using the PICOT format (provided in the assigned readings) that addresses the clinical nursing problem.

The PICOT question will provide a framework for your capstone project change proposal.

In a paper of 500-750 words, clearly identify the clinical problem and how it can result in a positive patient outcome.

Describe the problem in the PICOT question as it relates to the following:

1. Evidence-based solution
2. Nursing intervention
3. Patient care
4. Health care agency
5. Nursing practice

Prepare this assignment according to the guidelines found in the APA Style Guide, located in the Student Success Center. An abstract is not required.

Aging Adult Case Study

A 68-year-old client lives alone and is independent with all ADLs, has no restrictions for mobility, and is competent, and oriented x4. The client is on a fixed income, but has enough to manage a modest lifestyle. The client has family and social supports but is very independent and is proud of her self-reliance. The client’s height is 5’ 6”, weight is 210 lb. / 95.25 kg.

Please answer the following:

• What is the client’s BMI?
• Identify what screening tools you would use to assess nutritional and exercise knowledge, and why?
