Journal Article Review | 2025 Custom Writing

Journal Article Review InstructionsYou will write Journal Article Review, from the professional, peer-reviewed journal articles provided in the Assignment Instructions folder. No outside articles will be accepted. Each Journal Article Review must be approximately 3–5 double-spaced pages (not including the title and reference pages) and must be created in a Microsoft Word document. Use the following guidelines to create your paper:Provide a title page in the current APA  format including only your name, the paper title (referring to the article title), and the institutional affiliation (University). Keep in mind that the current APA recommends that the title length not exceed 12 words. Use the running head in the appropriate place and a page number on every page. Divide your summary into sections with the following Level One headings: Summary, Interaction, and Application (review the current APA Manual for guidance on levels of headings if needed).Develop a 2 page summary of the main concepts from the article. Do not duplicate the article’s abstract. If the article describes a  research study, include brief statements about the hypotheses, methods, results, discussion, and implications. If any test measures or statistical methods used are given in the article, do not provide detailed descriptions of these. Short direct quotations from the article are acceptable, but avoid long quotations in a paper this size. This section is the foundation of your Journal Article Review (at least a third of your paper). Make sure that you include the core points from the article, even if it means a longer section. Do not reference any additional articles in your summary. In your own words, interact (in approximately 1 page) with the article. Appropriate comments for this part of the paper should include but are not limited to: your initial response to the article, comments regarding the study’s design or methodology (if any), insights you gained from reading the article, your reasons for being interested in this particular article, any other readings that you may plan to do based upon having read the article, and other thoughts you have that might further enhance the discussion of your article. Your subjective comments in this section must be clearly tied to the main points from the article, not peripheral ideas. Again, do not reference any other article. In your final section (in approximately 1 page) write how you would apply the information you have learned from this article to a particular counseling situation. This could be in a clinical session. Develop this section as if you are a clinician and your client has come to you with a problem—grief, depression, substance abuse, infidelity, etc.—and is needing your help. Adequately describe the counseling scenario, including the presenting problem. Draw out concepts from the article and apply the concepts to the scenario as if you were guided only by the content of the article. Show the reader how you are expressly drawing from the journal article in this application section; be sure to cite correctly in the current APA format.Provide the complete citation for the article being summarized on a reference page in the current APA format.Additionally, consider any other information from previous articles you may have read in previous courses, or in other places you have encountered information relating to the themes in the article you are reviewing. For example, does the ACA Code of Ethics (2014) have anything to say about the themes being discussed in your journal article? Are there passages of Scripture that directly relate to the article? Are there ideas and concepts from previous courses you have taken in your program here at Liberty or elsewhere that relate to the article you have chosen? You are encouraged to include them, and make sure you include proper citations and references at the end of your paper.Point values for each section as well as for writing/current APA can be found on the grading rubric. Remember that all papers in this program follow the current APA format and are written per graduate-level standards.

Unit 4 DiscussionsTopicThreadsPostsLast PostCh. 14 Personality (Required)Personality Theories:  There are a variety of ways to view the development and function of personality.  Ch. 14 of your text covers material on the major theories of personality, including Freud’s Psychoanalytic approach, Adler’s approach (derived from but split from Freud’s idea with regard to the source of motivation), behavioral or learning theories, humanistic viewpoints and the Big 5 Trait approach.  I will remind students here that the study of the human personality is broad and complex, and this area of psychology is represented by a vast amount of research – all of which cannot be adequately presented in an introductory course of study.  For students who major in psychology, an entire semester class (or more than one class) would be spent on personality theories alone.  The intention of an introductory course is to provide you with exposure to the general ideas where personality and personality testing are concerned.  Please ask questions as needed so the material can be adequately clarified.I.  First, discuss your responses to the theoretical presentations as they are given in the text, and in conjunction with the DETERMINING YOUR SCHOOL OF PSYCHOLOGY document.  This brief questionnaire is self scored, and serves as a very basic guide of which theory you might gravitate toward in reflection of the statements provided.  Which theory(theories) would you be more or less likely to endorse, and why?  Explain.II.  Watch Inside Out: The Enduring Self :  Discuss key points from the film that you find important to understanding personality.  Compare and contrast any information from the film with information from Chapter 14 of the text.III.  For added interest, and in reflection of the Big 5 Trait model, you can take an online version of the Big Five Personality Test . Do the results you received reflect how you view your own personality?  What are the advantages and disadvantages of viewing personality from the 5 Factor Model perspective? (sharing the results of your assessment is not required or necessary; you can share the results at your own discretion)You must start a thread before you can read and reply to other threadsCh. 15: Abnormal Behavior & Treatments (Optional)Chapter 15 discusses aspects of abnormal behavior and how it is identified and measured, as well as various  psychological diagnoses and their treatments.  Watch Psychopathology (30 min)  as an adjunct to the text material.  Discuss ideas from the film and text that catch your interest.  What do you think about the different psychological diagnoses and treatments presented in the text?  What questions do you have? This is a good opportunity to ask questions about specific diagnoses and treatment models.  As is the case with the personality material, this chapter is only intended to give a general overview of this area of psychology.  Please ask questions as you find helpful, or to get clarifications on items from the final test study guide.Unit 3 DiscussionsTopicThreadsPostsLast PostCh. 10 Sleep & ConsciousnessMust post first.Controversies about Consciousness:  Much controversy exists around the idea of consiousness, how it is defined, and discrepancies between animal and human consciousness.  For this discussion, give consideration to the following:1)   How would you define the concept of “consciousness”? Do you think there is such a thing, apart from the physiological activity of the brain? Why or why not? (Consider revisiting the material on the mind-brain problem, first encountered in Chapter 1 – how might this concept apply here?)  How does one define where consciousness ends and unconsciousness begins (or vice versa)?  Where does sleep fit into the realm of conscious/unconsciousness (e.g., when you sleep, are you conscious or unconsious)?2)  Watch both of the following Ch. 10 Films:Dreams: Theater of the Night (30 min)  This film, while older, tends to reflect text material and concepts fairly well. Why Do We Dream?  (50 min.)  This film expands our understanding of sleep and dreaming. For fun – you can self administer the Epworth Sleepiness Scale, and post reflections or ask questions as part of your discussion post.Share your reflections to the films as part of your discussion post and in consideration of Question #2 (above).  What are some key points from the film that you find informative and useful/relative to the material presented in Ch. 10 of your text.  Use specific examples from the film to illustrate your ideas. You must start a thread before you can read and reply to other threadsCh. 11 MotivationMust post first.Chapter 11 covers an array of topics related to the study of motivated behaviors.Watch the following video to compliment your reading of Chapter 11 material and highlight 2-3 key points that you find valuable in your understanding of this topic: Motivation and Emotion (30 min) and/or Motivational Theories: Crash Course (12 min)Which motivational theory seems to reflect your own experience with motivation, i.e., being a student or worker?  Explain your response and give some examples.Take the Self Motivation Quiz and share reflections of your results.Ask questions about the motivational theories as needed, and propose other ideas relative to the material. You must start a thread before you can read and reply to other threadsCh. 12 Stress & HealthMust post first.Watch Stress: Portait of a KillerAfter viewing, respond to the following:Compare and contrast the physiological vs. sociological/environmental factors associated with the stress response.  Use examples from the film to support your response. (physiological responses are bodily responses that occur at the cellular or biochemical level, where sociological factors would be external social and cultural factors)Consider the theories of stress and/or emotion presented in your text (i.e., James-Lange theory, Selye’s concept, Lazurus’ cognitive appraisal theory).  Do you think these ideas align with or contradict what is being presented in the video with regard to stress and health.  Use examples from film and text to support your response.Consider items in the COPE Questionnaire – How do you view your style of coping?  Are you more emotion focused or problem focused in your coping style?  (see pp. 406-408 in text)Share any other reflections or ideas based on your viewing of the video and reading of Ch. 12 material.  What is your response to this material – what can be learned from this? You must start a thread before you can read and reply to other threadsCh. 13 Conformity & ObedienceMust post first.Chapter 13of your text discusses a number of topics from the field of Social Psychology.  Overall, social psychologists are interested in studying how the power of the group or situation influences behavior, rather than focusing on the individual characteristics of a person.  Social psychologists emphasize that behavior is a function of both the individual and the environment or situation.  These ideas contrast with the usual focus of study, which often emphasizes the individual and her/his internal personality traits.  For this discussion, watch the films from the links provided below as an adjunct to the textbook material, as well as review the relevant concepts in the text, and respond to the questions/ideas that follow.*Note:  The Stanford Prison Experiment contains footage from an actual study that in today’s time would be considered unethical.  Some of the material can be sensitive.  Students are encouraged toread pp. 442-448before viewing the videos.Obeying or Resisting Authority:  Obeying or Resisting Authority (35 min)Stanford Prison Experiment (30 min): Stanford Prison ExperimentWhat do you think are the positive and negative aspects of group identity?  What are some of the possible behaviors (positive or negative) that may result from being a member of a group? Is there any benefit to having people conform to authority – is obedience and conformity necessary for a successful society?  Are you a conformist or a rebel?  Why or why not?  Explain your response.Imagine you are a participant in the Stanford Prison Experiment – would you be a kind guard or a sadistic guard? Would you be a conforming or rebellious prisoner?  Explain your response. You are also welcome to reflect on any of the concepts presented in Ch. 13.  Present an example from our current culture/society that you think might reflect some of these ideas, i.e., examples of conformity to group norms (like those shown in the Asch, Milgram or Stanford experiment), or perhaps examples of how people respond to different leadership styles (i.e., based on Lewin’s study).  Explain how you think your example fits with the ideas as presented either in your text or in the film.  There are many ideas presented here, select one that is most relevant to you.  Ask questions to extend the discussion forum.

After reviewing the case below, choose two perspectives (neuroscience,  humanistic, cognitive, psychodynamic or behavioral) to create a short  dialogue between two psychologists discussing Sara’s behavior. Feel free  to be creative in your dialogue! Define your two chosen perspectives  and briefly discuss the differences of each approach. What was one  missing in your dialogue from the case that the other helped to explain?CaseSara is 35 year-old woman currently  struggling with increasing pressure at work and a recent divorce among  many other things in her life. At the urging of her friends and family,  she sought counseling and was diagnosed with Depression and Generalized  Anxiety Disorder. Sara has a tendency to worry excessively about her  children, money, friends, cat, and just about everything else where  other people might not find a reason to worry. At work, she has trouble  concentrating and is finding it difficult to perform at her best. Her  boss is putting more pressure on her to perform better and meet sales  goals for the quarter. In general, Sara feels like she is often on edge,  tense, exhausted and is very irritable, which has impacted her everyday  life. The amount of stress and anxiety Sara is experiencing in her life  is also contributing to her depression. She feels as though she is in a  vicious cycle she can’t escape. When Sara was in middle school, her parents argued a lot and she  often heard them talking about divorce. In high school, Sara’s parents  finally followed through and divorced, which made Sara feel very alone  and not in control of her own life. She said that she still feels that  she is not in control, worries often, and can’t control how she feels,  despite her attempts.Be sure to make connections between your ideas and conclusions and  the research, concepts, terms, and theory we are discussing this week.

Discussion: The Complexity of Eating Disorder Recovery in the Digital Age | 2025 Custom Writing

Through this week’s Learning Resources, you become aware not only of the prevalence of factors involved in the treatment of eating disorders, but also the societal, medical, and cultural influences that help individuals develop and sustain the unhealthy behaviors related to an eating disorder. These behaviors have drastic impacts on health. In clinical practice, social workers need to know about the resources available to clients living with an eating disorder and be comfortable developing interdisciplinary, individualized treatment plans for recovery that incorporate medical and other specialists. For this Discussion, you focus on guiding clients through treatment and recovery. To prepare:Review the Learning Resources on experiences of living with an eating disorder, as well as social and cultural influences on the disorder.Read the case provided by your instructor for this week’s Discussion.Post a 300- to 500-word response in which you address the following:Provide the full DSM-5 diagnosis for the client. Remember, a full diagnosis should include the name of the disorder, ICD-10-CM code, specifiers, severity, and the Z codes (other conditions that may be a focus of clinical attention). Keep in mind a diagnosis covers the most recent 12 months.Explain the diagnosis by matching the symptoms identified in the case to the specific criteria for the diagnosis.Explain why it is important to use an interprofessional approach in treatment. Identity specific professionals you would recommend for the team, and describe how you might best utilize or focus their services.Explain how you would use the client’s family to support recovery. Include specific behavioral examples.Select and explain an evidence-based, focused treatment approach that you might use in your part of the overall treatment plan.Explain how culture and diversity influence these disorders. Consider how gender, age, socioeconomic status, sexual orientation, and/or ethnicity/race affect the experience of living with an eating disorder.Note: You do not need to include an APA reference to the DSM-5 in your response. Epic literature was written to commemorate the struggles and adventures of kings, warriors, and heroes. On the other hand, epics are also collections of historical events that are not recorded in common history books. The main function of an epic poetry is to transmit values of the hero to inspire them to be ready to perform heroic actions. The Epic of Gilgamesh is a story about the life of an Assyrian king whose name is Gilgamesh. The poetic style of The Epic of Gilgamesh includes a lot of repetition which helps make his story easier to remember. Gilgamesh is a young arrogant king who was portrayed as half-god and half-human. This empowers him to be seen as in excess of a man, yet not exactly undying. Simultaneously, Gilgamesh’s condition is one in which he comes to comprehend certainties about being human. He encounters agony, misconception, and the very development of mortality. Gilgamesh is known as the most grounded man on the planet and is respected for his fortitude. Throughout this epic, Gilgamesh performs many different accomplishments such as defeating Humbaba, the Bull of Heaven deify him, and achieves an enduring inheritance. Gilgamesh’s strength, beauty, and attitude becomes troublesome for him. The gods grow sick and tired of Gilgamesh’s arrogant attitude, so they decide to teach him a lesson. His punishment is to fight then he is summoned to set off on a long journey which will teach him life lessons along the way. The Epic of Gilgamesh fits the main definition of an epic because it is a long poem that tells a heroic story. Gilgamesh is considered an epic saint as a result of his extraordinary quality, fearlessness, and accomplishments.Source:Epic – Examples and Definition of Epic. (2015, December 02). Retrieved October 21, 2020, from https://literarydevices.net/epic/2nd DiscussionTitle: Egyptian PyramidsTopic: What do the impressive efforts to build the pyramids indicate about death in Egyptian society?A lot of hours and labor went into building the Egyptian Pyramids. Most stood several hundred feet tall and took on average about 30 years to build. Pyramids were made out of limestone and granite and were built with tools such as copper saws and chisels. A lot of work and planning went into building the pyramids to protect the pharaohs and the people that were buried with them. It was once thought that the pyramids were built by slaves but was later discovered they were built by skilled builders and were rewarded with burials in the tombs. Egyptians believed in immortality, and that after you die, if you were approved by the gods, you would be born again. They believed that death was just a temporary state. It seems as though Egyptians lived their lives just preparing for death and making sure they were good enough for the afterworld. The Book of the Dead was used, and Osiris, the god of the underworld would judge them on if they could live life after death. The Book of the Dead was thought to be a manual to help guide them to afterlife if they were approved by the gods. When they would die, the organs were taken out except the heart and the body was mummified to prepare for afterlife. They were buried with prayers and jewelry such as gems and gold. Pharaoh’s were even buried in gold tombs. Outside of the tomb there would be food, drinks, clothing, and furniture for when they awake from the dead. They even went to great measures to protect the pharaohs and the belongings of them for when they came into the after world. Unfortunately, that didn’t stop thieves from creating tunnels underneath to rob the tombs. They then had to think of other ways for burial.Fiero, Gloria K. The Humanistic Tradition. 7th ed.
