Substantive response.APA format175-265 wordsCite 2 referencesRespond to the following:Stephen Notaro10:44 AMAs I was reading our chapters this morning, I noticed right away the authors speak of the importance of hand washing and other basic public health preventive measures. Every day I notice how many people are not wearing face masks despite, as some of you detailed in very interesting posts the impact of the virus. Earlier I was reading that hospitals in Florida, Texas, and Arizona were almost at capacity because of the number of cases surging (Gomez-Licon, 2020). Some areas of Florida and in Houston, Texas hit capacity and have no available ICU beds. Arizona hospitals were at 89 percent capacity while Gomez-Licon reports that half of the new cases in Arizona were in people under 44 years of age. The “hot spots” for COVID change but the numbers are trending up in most countries. It certainly makes us see the importance of public and community health in such important decisions. Many universities and school systems brought students back this fall. Some did not.Do you think universities and schools should have students in the classroom this fall? Why or Why not?ReferenceGomez-Licon, A. (2020).  Hospitals in florida, texas and arizona are almost at capacity as coronavirus cases surge. https://time.com/5863564/hospitals-capacity-coronavirus-surge/

Substansive reponse. Please further discussion. End response with question.175-265 wordsCite 2 referencesAPA formatRespond to the following:Sam Quichocho10:24 PMI believe the current event with the greatest impact on the U.S. Healthcare system is insurance. Or lack thereof. Many Americans do not have insurance coverage, and if they do, it can be costly. With most insurances there are deductibles, copays and fees for prescriptions. So even if someone pays for insurance, there can be extra costs involved in seeking healthcare. Obama made efforts while in office to fix this issue. By offering “lower cost” healthcare coverage to middle and lower class citizens. What he also did was allow Americans to be fined yearly if they chose not to purchase health coverage. So truly, did it help? I think not. Thousands-if not millions- of people will not participate in preventative care due to the cost. This clearly can cause further issues with their health, possibly resulting in a consistent declining health status. Which will then end up to cost more and take much more effort than it would have if Americans had more options for health insurance. Or were given living wages by their employees, assisting them with the ability to afford it. It seems as though the middle and lower class are stuck between a rock and a hard place. Live a poor, pitiful life just to put money into their health. Or stay unhealthy and refuse medical care so that they might have a roof over their head.

Stress, Illness, and Specific Populations | 2025 Custom Writing

The type of illness that results from too much stress depends on a variety of factors. Your age, gender, ethnic heritage, culture, and even geographical location all influence your response to developing stress-related illnesses. Some populations are more vulnerable to the effects of stress, just as some populations are more susceptible to certain diseases. Population-based health care focuses on assessing health needs, planning culturally sensitive prevention and intervention programs, and improving public health. In this context, populations are groups of people defined by a common condition that perhaps need focused health education, prevention programs, or treatment. The following are some examples of populations:Pregnant womenMilitary personnel returning from warThose with low socioeconomic statusThose experiencing discriminationRefugeesThose with asthmaThe elderlyThose experiencing significant lossIllegal immigrantsThose with cardiovascular diseaseAdult survivors of childhood sexual abuseVictims of crimeThose with serious mental illnessWhether it is poverty, grief, or discrimination, the variety of stressors that members of these populations might encounter does not vanish overnight. As a result, the persistence of stress can contribute to long-lasting illness or chronic disease, such as heart disease, stroke, cancer, diabetes, obesity, and arthritis. Seventy percent of all deaths in the United States are due to chronic disease. Fifty percent of Americans have at least one chronic disease. Chronic diseases are the most common and expensive diseases facing the world and since most chronic diseases have modifiable risk factors, most are preventable. The most common modifiable risks are poor diet, lack of exercise, and tobacco, alcohol, or drug use.For this Discussion, review this week’s Learning Resources including the Stress and Immune-Related Disease” section of the “ Stress, the Immune System, Chronic Illness, and Your Body” handout. Select an illness to use for this Discussion. Think about a population that is more susceptible to this illness and a population that is less susceptible to this illness. With these thoughts in mind:Post by Day 4 a brief description of the illness you selected. Then describe one population that is more susceptible and one population that is less susceptible to this illness and explain why. Include how stress and coping might differ between these populations. Be specific.Course Text: Aldwin, C. M. & Yancura, L. (2011). Stress, coping, and adult development. In R. J. Contrada & A. Write a     500-750-word paper in which you discuss how you apply the basic     ethical principles in behavioral health practice of autonomy,     fidelity, beneficence, nonmaleficence, justice, and honesty as they     relate to the following cases.Case 1: A client with depression who has been     seeing a therapist for a year has begun to get more depressed and     has recently revealed an eating disorder that has been untreated for     many years. This client is seeing you for case management services.     In your capacity as a case manager, how can you ensure you are     meeting the basic ethical principles listed above? Apply each of the     principles to different aspects of the case you would reasonably     expect to encounter.Case 2: You have discovered that a client you     have come to know and like has recently abused her son. This client     has many stressors in her life including an unsupportive ex-husband     who is not paying child support and does not visit his son, and     a job that does not pay enough. These stressors are causing     financial stress and little support for the client. She is a good     mother other than this incident and you would hate to see her son     taken from her. In light of this case, what are you ethically and     legally obligated to do? How would you work through your own     conflicts in this case? How would your actions in whatever you     identify them to be apply to the basic ethical principles listed     (autonomy, fidelity, beneficence, nonmaleficence, justice, and honesty)?
