Arguments for the Existence of God | 2025 Custom Writing

Recall from our unit on logic and critical thinking that we are subject toconfirmation bias. This is the idea that we notice information that confirms our beliefs and we tend to ignore information that disconfirms them. We also read aboutRapoport’s rules. When we evaluate arguments we try to give the strongest version of them we can. We could extend this idea that positions people hold. If we are interested in the truth, then we should consider the strongest argument we know of for that position. Together, Let’s evaluate the arguments for the existence of God that we have studied so far with confirmation bias and Rapoport’s rules in mind.Review confirmation biasReview rapoport’s rulesEvaluate the Arguments for the Existence of GodFor your initial post, identify the argument for the existence of God that you think is the strongest. Note: this is possible regardless of whether you are actually convinced by this argument or if you actually agree with the conclusion that God exists. Briefly explain why you think this is the best argument of those we have studied. This should take two to three paragraphs (100 words or more each). You must include an explanation of either Aquinas’ argument or Paley’s argument. Cite page numbers, and include bibliography. These arguments are found in Vaughn, chapter 2.In addition, explain the objection that you think is the best objection AGAINST the argument for the existence of God that you selected above. Here we are trying to avoid confirmation bias by trying to falsify the best argument in favor of a position. This should be done in another one or two paragraphs (100 words or more each).

I need someone to conduct onduct two separate role-played interviews. Have your volunteer think of any two problems they might be facing in their life (preferably not real but imagined). They can be as wild and crazy as they would like, such as, “My llama ate my dining room table, so now I won’t get my deposit back on the apartment” and, “My roommate is a werewolf.”For Scenario 1, you must play “20 Questions” to determine what your interviewee’s imaginary Problem #1 is. You only get 20 questions, and only “Yes-No” answers are allowed. For Scenario 2, you must determine what your interviewee’s Problem #2 is, but you are allowed to ask open-ended questions.Based on your two mock interviews, imagine you have been asked to speak to an undergraduate Counseling Skills course. Create a PowerPoint presentation to compare the results of the two mock interviews. Include the following in your presentation:Explain how different kinds of questions are used for different purposes in interviews.Compare your experiences with both types of questions in this exercise. Which method of questioning felt more natural to you, and which felt like more work? Explain how your interviewee’s responses differed across the two sessions.Recommend questioning strategies to obtain needed information from clients, and then relate them to your future work as a helper.Support your presentation with at least five scholarly resources. In addition to these specified resources, other appropriate scholarly resources may be included.Length: 1 slides (with a separate reference slide)Notes Length: 200-350 words for each slide

Ethical Issues in Psychology | 2025 Custom Writing

Ethics is a central concept to any career in psychology. As you noticed in the case studies, ethical issues are sometimes unclear, and solutions to ethical dilemmas are often difficult to determine. As a professional in psychology, it is important to know how to identify an ethical issue, think through possible solutions, and find the resources necessary to guide your choices. You probably also observed from the unit studies that you will not be conducting actual research for this course. You will instead be gathering information from a professional in psychology. For this discussion, select one case study from Ethics Case Studies by Specialization that is applicable to your future career vision in the field. Then review your readings from this unit’s studies on ethical principles, standards, and codes of conduct. Consider also the questions and information from your professional interview. In your initial post, share your insights about ethical principles in psychology by responding to the following questions:· What do you see as the ethical issue or issues involved in the case study you reviewed? Cite the relevant elements within the APA’s Ethical Principles of Psychologists and Code of Conduct to support your analysis.· What steps would you take to attempt to resolve the issue?· How can you apply the principles from the Becoming an Ethical Helping Professional coursepack readings to the case study you chose?· How does this issue as well as the other standards in the APA ethics code relate to your future career in psychology?· What is the difference between conducting research in the field of psychology and conducting your informational interview for this course?· What ethical principles are most applicable to your professional interview?· What will you do to ensure you adhere to ethical principles while conducting your interview? If you have any trouble locating a person to interview or understanding ethical principles for information gathering, use this discussion to receive support from your peers and instructor to work through your challenges.

On page 101, the authors stated, ” when conducting research, you can measure each person only once; you cannot give the measure 50 or 100 times to discover a true score” ( cozby & Bates, 2015) . When reading this, to me it sounds like reliability can’t be repeated. Than on page 102, the authors talked about ” test-retest reliability- assessed by measuring the same individuals at two points in time” ( cozby & Bates, 2015). For my understanding, it’s now saying that reliability can be repeated and if the results are similar it is reliable. My question is can reliability repeated at anytime?Referencecozby, P, C., & Bates, S. C., (2015). Methods in behavioral research (12th ed.). Boston, MA: McGraw-Hill Higher Education.ReplyMarie Elien4 hours ago, at 6:50 AM NEWFor my final research topic the best way to measure it is by interview and observation. I would ask my participants questions such as “being on a long-term antipsychotic treatment do you find your thinking process the same or is it getting slower?”. I will also question them about their memories ability, I will also examined them on how long they can focus on a task. I’m guessing this approach is called “face validity- the evidence for validity is that the measure appears on the face of it to measure what is supposed to measure” (Cozby & Bates, 2015). I will also observe their behavior while they are under treatment. This approach is called “interrater reliability- is the extend to which raters agree in their observations” ( Cozby & Bates, 2015).Reference:Cozby, P, C., & Bates, S. C., (2015). Methods in behavioral research. (12th ed.). Boston, MA: McGraw-Hill Higher Education.ReplyNicole Coalter12 hours ago, at 10:31 PMI think for my final project in research I would like to be able to measure the reliability of what I am researching. After reading the text I saw more formal ways to know what reliability in research is. The two ways are that compromise each other are true score and measurement error. True score in the text means the real score of measurement and measurement error means that the score is unreliable (Cozy & Bates, 2015). I think as going into the counseling field understanding reliability as a consistent and stable measure of behavior will help better understand our clients. I feel that behavior is the biggest thing as future counselors we look at in treating clients. Whether the behavior is good or bad; how do we overall keep improving the positive behavior and help the client to change his or her own behavior those are my thoughts. What are is the class thoughts on this?Reference: Reference: Cozby, P. C., & Bates, S. C. (2015). Methods In behavioral research (12th ed.). Boston, MA:  McGraw-Hill Higher Education.ReplyKatie Diaz17 hours ago, at 6:14 PMAs we progress in this class i am changing what my initial research question and focusing it down to something more specific. I think that my research question now is going to focus more on how depression affect people in the workplace, this way there are not very many variables to determine and it has one main focus. So with that in mind I think that best approach would be to do interviews and surveys to see how much a person’s depressions affects their work habits. By doing interviews it would have to be done by two people so that the “Interrater reliability is the extent to which raters agree in their observations” (Cozby, 2015). That way each person will be able to read the person’s actions and truly see how much depression is affecting them in the workplace.Reference: Cozby, P. C., & Bates, S. C. (2015). Methods In behavioral research (12th ed.). Boston, MA:McGraw-Hill Higher Education.
