Observation and Assessment Case Scenario | 2025 Custom Writing

Kaplan UniversityPsychology / Applied Behavior AnalysisCE300: Observation and Assessment in Early Childhood==============================================Case ScenarioEmily is an 14-month-old toddler developing typically. She attends a for-profit childcare center full-time. Emily’s parents are divorced and she lives half-time with each parent. She has two older brothers, ages 6 and 10. Emily’s father is a plumber and her mother is a cashier at a local grocery store. Emily has begun biting other children at the childcare center. You have just been assigned to act as the lead educator in her classroom. The assistant is concerned about Emily’s biting and so are some of the parents of the other children, as she has left bite marks on two children, though the skin was not broken. During your first day in the classroom, you observe the following:Emily is playing alone with a doll. Janesta, who is 17 months old, walks over to Emily and takes the doll Emily was playing with. Emily then bites Janesta on the arm. You swiftly pick Emily up and tell her, “We don’t bite,” and hold her in your lap for a few minutes. Then she runs to play with blocks.Later in the day, you witness Emily walk up to a boy in the class and bite him on the shoulder, without any apparent provocation. The assistant quickly picks Emily up and moves her to the reading area and reads her a book. Emily stays there for 10 minutes, quietly turning pages.—————————-Part 1:ABC Analysis ChartYou will use the case scenario above to develop a hypothesis as to what is the likely function of the behavior. Be sure to use your Unit 6 resources on Functional Behavior Assessment to assist you in filling out the ABC chart template in DocSharing.A=Antecedent. What happened immediately before the behavior? Was there any event or activity that preceded the behavior?B=Behavior. The behavior should be defined in observable, objective terms.C=Consequence. What happened immediately following the behavior?Function of behavior = this is your hypothesis. Using what you have learned about behavior, what is the most likely function? Is the child trying to get something, and if so, what? This could be tangibles such as access to a toy, a preferred activity or even attention. Is the child trying to escape from something, and if so, what? This could be escape from an unwanted task such as cleaning up toys.———————–Part 2:Behavior Change ChartFor Part 2, using your hypothesis and the information from your ABC chart, fill out the template (Blank Unit 6 ABC Chart Template.doc) and manipulate variables to determine if your hypothesis is correct in order to pick the best course of action to take with Emily. You can only manipulate one variable at a time in order to determine what would be most effective in modifying Emily’s behavior. First you will manipulate the antecedent. When you changed the antecedent (A), what do you predict will happen and why? If you do not get the desired behavior change (B), then you need to try manipulating another variable. In this case, you will then manipulate the consequence (C). What do you predict will happen with the behavior (B) and why?——————-This assignment requires at least two resources (in-text citations) be used.Suggested resources:Center for Effective Collaboration and Practice. Learning And Cognition Handbook 4000 words 8pg minimum | 2025 Custom Writing

HandbookThe primary goal of the Learning and Cognition Handbook is to integrate concepts from the discipline of learning and cognitive psychology into a usable and professional guide that is designed for a specified audience which will be designated based on students’ current or future career goals. Students will choose one of five assigned constructs and focus their handbook on this specific area of learning and cognition. Skills and information learned throughout the course will be applied in the design and creation of this handbook. Findings from required sources, including those from the text and individual peer-reviewed articles, will be incorporated into the handbook; however, these findings will not constitute the total information for each of the sub-constructs addressed within the project. Students should include the relevant sources they researched in the Week Two Discipline-Based Literature Review as well as those from the Week Three Assignment. The purpose of the handbook is to share helpful strategies, apply the chosen construct to seven sub-constructs in the field, and present a holistic guide for others that can be used in the discipline. To complete this assignment, students may utilize the Learning and Cognition Handbook template or create their own using the template as a guide. Each section of the handbook should be written in the student’s own words with use of limited paraphrased material cited according to APA standards as outlined in the Ashford Writing Center. Each section of the handbook should include a minimum of one visual (e.g., table, figure, or image) with a maximum of five visuals per section. Each image must be retrieved and cited based on current copyright laws. Students may wish to use the Where to Get Free Images guide for assistance with accessing freely available public domain and/or Creative Commons licensed images. The following constructs will be the subject content options for this handbook and will be chosen based on an evaluative literature review in Week Two and students’ future career goals:The Neurosciences:  A Look at Our BrainsSocio-Cognition: Social Interactions in LearningLearning and Literacy: Reading, Writing, and Language DevelopmentDiversity and Culture: The Effects to LearningConnectionism and Learning: A Web of DevelopmentThe sections listed below must be used within the paper to delineate the sections of content.Table of ContentsIn this section, students will list all sections and subsections included in the handbook with the applicable page numbers.PrefaceIn this section, students will provide a 100- to 150-word overview of the handbook and its potential use by the chosen audience.Introduction to Chosen ConstructIn this section, students will provide a 200- to 300-word introductory summary of the chosen construct and discuss any careers in psychology specifically related to this construct. Beginning with the work completed in Week One, students will include the language from their personal epistemology (revised based on instructor feedback and the further development of their ideas and beliefs throughout the course and the program thus far).Chosen ConstructIn this section, students will provide information that communicates how and why the chosen construct of learning and cognition affects the following sub-constructs through synthesizing the learning principles and/or theories. For each of the sub-constructs, students will apply basic research methods and skeptical inquiry to explain the theoretical perspectives and empirical findings that substantiate the relationship between the construct and the sub-constructs. Although creative liberties are encouraged, all information incorporated should be supported and professionally presented through the consistent application of ethical principles and adherence to professional standards of learning and cognition psychology as applied to the chosen audience.Sub-ConstructsInformation for each sub-construct will be presented in 500 to 700 words.ComprehensionProblem SolvingMemory Development/RetentionLifelong LearningDomains and Domain LearningAffective Outcomes of EmotionEffects of Demographic Differences (e.g., gender, socioeconomics, religious affiliation, race)ConclusionIn this section, students will provide a 200- to 300-word summarization of the handbook in which they describe the importance of the chosen construct and assigned sub-constructs within the learning and cognition domain and their applicability within the psychology profession for the chosen audience.Attention Students: The Masters of Arts in Psychology program is utilizing the Pathbrite portfolio tool as a repository for student scholarly work in the form of signature assignments completed within the program. Advocating for Data Driven ProgramPart 1. ScenarioYou are a new school counselor in a school that has not been using data to drive the school counseling program. The veteran counselor at the school said that collecting data is a waste of time. What would you say to this veteran counselor? Support your thoughts with research from your readings.Part 2: Data drives InterventionProfessional school counselors examine student data (e.g., graduation rates, dropout rates, college-going rates, attendance, discipline referrals, report grades, school climate surveys, social-emotional data, etc.) to determine needed interventions. Using data garnered from these sources, professional school counselors design and create interventions and measure them using pretest and posttest scores. Data from these tests determine academic, personal/social, and college/career interventions. With that said, select two sources of data you would examine if you were at the elementary, middle, or high school and discuss two relevant interventions that you would implement to assist students in the academic, personal/social-emotional, and college/career domain. Please include in-text citations to support your assertions. Must be a substantive response. please further discussion.175 word minimumAPA formatAt least 1 referenceRespond to the following:Jessica Guidry7:15 PMHello Class,In terms of employee preferences, one can begin to think of their own current job. If there is one thing right off the top the head, would be increased wages. In a study performed by Kovach (1995), he states that not all employees found their jobs interesting, but rather the most requested preference was to have increased wages. Researchers are always evaluating what drives employees. It has been found that employees are driven by tangible items such, such as gifts or rewards (i.e. gift cards), while others are motivated by public and/or private praise, or maybe just a luncheon to boost moral within the office. However, no matter how it is looked at Kovach makes a very striking observation, that not all employees were thrilled or even interested about their jobs, which impacts performance greatly.Every year, employees can look forward to annual performance reviews. The leadership within an organization evaluate employee performance to determine if pay raises are warranted, promotions, if more employee training is needed, or even to evaluate and determine if there is a need to reduce the workforce. There are several types of assessments which can be used to determine these factors and according to SHRM (2020), the following are the most used in assessing employee performance:RankingForced DistributionCompetency-basedBehavioral360-FeedbackThough, these types of assessments can be useful tools. However, if making the work more interesting for employees through skill assessments, conversations with management, or any means to get the message across, employee morale and motivation would increase, as would production and employee performance.

Please further discussion.APA format175 Word minimumInclude at least 1 referenceRespond to the following:Ashlee Spegal7:30 PMHopefully I am on track for this first week!Employee preference is when an individual has certain skills and traits that they are accustomed to when working a job. Assessments for preference can be used by career counselors to find jobs that will peak job performance. Employee engagement makes a huge impact on the profits and losses of the company. This is why it is important to find individuals who are best suited for the work that they are going to be getting into. “Engagement “works” because employees see the direct connection between what they (should) do and organizationally beneficial outcomes” (Macey, Schneider, Barbera & Young, 2009. p. 13). There are two types of preference assessments; direct and indirect. Indirect assessments are comprised of surveys and interviews which are useful because they are able to be done quickly. Direct approaches are known to include single and paired stimulus assessments, duration based paired assessments, and free-operant. Free operant assessments are ultimately guided by the employee and they can make which ever decision they want as far as preferences go. This gives them the time to explore their surroundings and what will ultimately produce the highest level of engagement.Macey, W. H., Schneider, B., Barbera, K. M., & Young, S. A.
