2023 Understanding family structure and style is essential to patient and family care Conducting a family interview

Nursing 2023 Family Health Assessment Part I

Understanding family structure and style is essential to patient and family care Conducting a family interview 2023 Assignment

Understanding family structure and style is essential to patient and  family care. Conducting a family interview and needs assessment  gathers information to identify strengths, as well as potential  barriers to health. This information ultimately helps develop  family-centered strategies for support and guidance.

This family health assessment is a two-part assignment. The  information you gather in this initial assignment will be utilized for  the second assignment (Family Assessment Part II).

Develop an interview questionnaire to be used in a family-focused  functional assessment. The questionnaire must include three  open-ended, family-focused questions to assess functional health  patterns for each of the following:

  1. Values/Health Perception
  2. Nutrition
  3. Sleep/Rest
  4. Elimination
  5. Activity/Exercise
  6. Cognitive
  7. Sensory-Perception
  8. Self-Perception
  9. Role Relationship
  10. Sexuality
  11. Coping

Select a family, other than your own, and seek permission from the  family to conduct an interview. Utilize the interview questions  complied in your interview questionnaire to conduct a family-focused  functional assessment. Document the responses as you conduct the interview.

Upon completion of the interview, write a 750-1,000-word paper.  Analyze your assessment findings. Submit your questionnaire as an  appendix with your assignment.

Include the following in your paper:

  1. Describe the family structure. Include individuals and any    relevant attributes defining the family composition, race/ethnicity,    social class, spirituality, and environment.
  2. Summarize the    overall health behaviors of the family. Describe the current health    of the family.
  3. Based on your findings, describe at least    two of the functional health pattern strengths noted in the    findings. Discuss three areas in which health problems or barriers    to health were identified.
  4. Describe how family systems    theory can be applied to solicit changes in family members that, in    turn, initiate positive changes to the overall family functions over  time.

Cite at least three peer-reviewed or scholarly sources to complete  this assignment. Sources should be published within the last 5 years  and appropriate for the assignment criteria.

Prepare this assignment according to the guidelines found in the APA  Style Guide, located in the Student Success Center. An abstract is not required.

This assignment uses a rubric. Please review the  rubric prior to beginning the assignment to become familiar with the  expectations for successful completion.

Significant Contributions to Public Health Part II This is a continuation of your final project which you started in 2023 Assignment

Significant Contributions to Public Health – Part II

This is a continuation of your final project, which you started in Week 3. This last piece involves an analysis of how your individual’s contribution from the past continues to contribute to today’s public health system and how it might guide future work within the industry. As you recall, in week 3, you researched an individual and their contribution to community and public health. To begin, you need to review the feedback given to you from Week 3. Then, make the necessary revisions to Part I of this project. Then, you will be adding the second half to your project.

Follow this outline to help formulate your paper or presentation:

ACTION: Make sure you review all the feedback from your Week 3 (Part I) assignment and apply any necessary revisions. Your week 3 assignment should have included each of the following elements:

  • GRADED ELEMENT : Describe your selected person’s experience
  • GRADED ELEMENT : Analyze the climate of the time period in terms of political, socioeconomic, environmental and technological context in which this person worked.
  • GRADED ELEMENT : Examine the personal beliefs of your person that prompted this work.
  • GRADED ELEMENT : Examine how this individual overcame any adversities to succeed in his/her task.
  • GRADED ELEMENT : Describe the final outcome of this individual’s contribution to community and/or public health.
  • GRADED ELEMENT : Explain what his/her contribution did for overall community and/or public health at the time.
  • GRADED ELEMENT : Explain why this contribution was so important at that particular point in history.

ACTION: Think about the individual’s contribution to community/public health

  • GRADED ELEMENT : Analyze the impact of your individual’s contribution on today’s public health system.
    • HELP: You are asking “what happened as a result of this contribution at the national and community level?” For example, some elements you could address include:
      • did it change attitudes
      • did it change protocols and policies
      • did behavior change result
      • did it add/eliminate laws
  • GRADED ELEMENT : Analyze how this contribution is still relevant today
    • HELP: Was this contribution only applicable at the time it occurred, or is it still applied today? Why or why not? Explain your response
  • GRADED ELEMENT : Examine how this contribution could support or be expanded for future community and public health benefits
    • HELP: Using solid critical thinking, look at the historical value of the contribution and examine how it could be used for the future (is it applicable to another health issue, can it lead to more policy change, could it promote advocacy work or public health laws, etc.)

You have a choice of which format you wish to present your findings:

Please reply with one reference to the following post Week 5 Reflection My goal to become a Registered Nurse 2023 Assignment

Please reply with one reference to the following post.

Week 5 Reflection

My goal to become a Registered Nurse began with the feeling that I had while helping others. My mom became sick when I was in middle school. She went from near death to energetic and happy. The nurses provided her with the tools to survive. The historical evolution of the advanced practice nurse begins with experiences just like mine. To know nurses before me, went into the homes of sick and poor individuals and gave them hope that makes me feel a sense of pride.

Instructor and class,

Nursing comes in many different forms from nurses working in advanced clinical settings in the hospital to nurse educators that influence safe practices. Advance nurses also can work administration and influence policies and procedures within the healthcare system. Nursing informatics is another area that is growing and driving the electronic health records that are required by law. Nursing informatics drive evidence-based research and practices and incorporate them into a system that nurses can use at the bedside.

The role of the nurse practitioner is growing year after year. The shortage of primary care physicians is contributing to the demand for mid-level practitioners. The availability and opportunities for advanced practice nurses are broad. Health promotion and disease prevention are at the forefront of advanced nursing. To know that I will provide the much-needed support in my community makes me feel a sense of pride.
