The Vignette of MarusMarcus is a 10-year-old boy who has been struggling at school. During the past year he has frequently been in fights with other students during recess. He argues with his teacher and sometimes refuses to follow her requests. He has also been in trouble for taking items belonging to other students such as lunch snacks, a sweatshirt left on the playground, and some loose change that was sitting on a desk. During class time, Marcus has difficulty following instructions and completing his work. He is easily distracted, does not pay attention to details, and frequently leaves his seat to interrupt the work of other students.Marcus is doing better at home. He spends the weekdays with his mother and two younger brothers whose ages are 5 and 7. He helps with many of the household chores his mother cannot attend to while she is at work full time. On the weekends, Marcus lives with his father, stepmother, his 11-year-old stepsister, and his 3-year-old half-sister. He describes his father and stepmother as being very strict, but he enjoys playing with two other boys his age who live in the neighborhood.Marcus’ teacher has met with his parents on several occasions to discuss his poor academic progress. She has expressed concern with the level of his academic skills in writing and math, as well as with his ability to get along well with others. Both the teacher and school principal have recommended counseling for Marcus, and the parents’ insurance plan will pay for 10 visits. Marcus’ pediatrician has also suggested the possibility of medication.Based on the information presented, address the following questions:What mental disorder would you consider for Marcus? List the specific criteria from the DSM-5that you believe Marcus meets, given the information you currently know about him. If Marcus does not meet all of the criteria needed for a diagnosis, what additional information would you need to gather? What score would you document for Marcus, if Marcus’ family completed the parent- or guardian-rated Level 1 cross-cutting symptom measure? Include the specific information you included when coming up with this score. What other factors (such as school system, family constellation, or medical and health care system) would you need to include when formulating a diagnosis and treatment plan for Marcus? In what way is his family system either helping him to cope at school or exacerbating the problems Marcus is having? How would you explain Marcus’ symptoms from a biological perspective? How would you explain his symptoms from a psychosocial perspective?

Styles of Parenting | 2025 Custom Writing

***Assignment is due SATURDAY Februrary 6th at 8pm EASTERN time***I will send photos of the corresponding text upon a handshakeThe following assignment is based off of this information:All three scenes depict a 16 year old teen sneaking out of his house. In the first scenario he is caught by his parents as he is sneaking back into his room. His parents immediately begin to scold him and tell him that he’s grounded for a month for breaking the curfew they set. This style of parenting is autocratic. The second scenario depicts him sneaking out and then back into his room successfully. His parents are sitting at breakfast the following morning debating on whether or not to go wake him up because it is already noon. They decide not to because they recall that he gets upset when they don’t let him sleep in on the weekends. They remain unaware that he had snuck out of the house the evening before and let him remain sleeping. This style of parenting is permissive. The final scenario shows his parents sitting on a couch waiting up for him. They ask if they think they should go back and check on him again. When they enter his room they find him tucked in bed and wake him up. They tell him they had been checking his room every 15 minutes because he did not return home upon the time of his curfew and have been worried sick about him. They then tell him that it is very late and they will discuss it in the morning. The following morning they sit down to breakfast and talk about what happened the night before and explain to him their point of view. They remind him that he is only 16 and that they all agreed on a set curfew time. They ask him his reasoning for sneaking out and tell him that he can have his friends over after his curfew so long as they are quiet. They then tell him his punishment is no going out for two weeks. He reluctantly accepts the punishment but understands where his parents are coming from. This style of parenting is authoritative.1. In 5-7 sentences recall a similar experience described in the scenarios with your parents or caregivers (or if you prefer you may describe a sibling or friend’s experience). Describe the style of parenting and how you felt now and then about the experience. Describe the type of limits, consequences, punishments, encouragement, democratic guidance (communication and discussions), and/or rewards.(PLEASE feel free to make any/all of this up. It is entirely opinion based so just focus on fully answering all parts of the question)2. Research has found that different styles of Parenting lead to different developmental outcomes in children and adolescents (see the Process of Parenting). Discuss how your (or a sibling a friend’s) childhood/adolescence experiences and the developmental outcomes that have influenced and impacted your life and decisions you have made regarding involvement in sports, work/careers, school, friends, and/or community involvement.Your participation grade will be based on the QUALITY of your message board postings responses. Reliability and Validity Worksheet/LOOK AT THE ATTACHMENT I POSTEDInstrument ReliabilityA reliable instrument is one that is consistent in what it measures. If, for example, an individual scores highly on the first administration of a test and if the test is reliable, he or she should score highly on a second administration.Imagine that you are conducting a study for which you must develop a test in mathematics for 7th-grade students. You develop a 30-point test and distribute it to a class of 12, 7th-grade students. You then administer the test again one month later to the day. The scores of the students on the two administrations of the test are listed below. Use Microsoft® Excel® or IBM® SPSS® to create a scatterplot with the provided scores, formatted as shown in the example graph. What observations can you make about the reliability of this test? Validity depends on the amount and type of evidence there is to support one’s interpretations concerning data that has been collected. This week, you discussed three kinds of evidence that can be collected regarding validity: content-related, criterion-related, and construct-related evidence. Each question below represents one of these three evidence types. In the space provided, write content if the question refers to content-related evidence, criterion if the question related to criterion-related evidence, and construct if the question refers to construct-related evidence of validity.1.     How strong is the relationship between the students’ scores obtained using this instrument and their teacher’s rating of their ability?2.     How adequately do the questions in the instrument represent that which is being measured?3.     Do the items that the instrument contains logically reflect that which is being measured?4.     Are there a variety of different types of evidence (test scores, teacher ratings, correlations, etc.) that all measure this variable?5.     How well do the scores obtained using this instrument predict future performance?6.     Is the format of the instrument appropriate?

Social Psychology Assignment | 2025

Social Psychology Assignment | 2025 Custom Writing

Assignment 1: Description of Research MethodologyIn this assignment, you will write an essay about the research methods and ethical implications of a social psychology study. You will get information about the study from one of the entries in the SPARQ “Solutions Catalog”, which is a web site maintained by Stanford University at https://sparq.stanford.edu/solutions?&&. SPARQ is an acronym for “Social Psychological Answers to Real-world Questions.” Each entry in the Solutions Catalog names a problem, and then offers a solution to that problem, based on a research study in social psychology. To keep this assignment short and manageable, your only sources for this assignment should be from the SPARQ site and your course materials, such as your textbook. There is no need for you to cite any of the course materials. Therefore, no additional citations or references are needed, beyond those from the SPARQ site.In this exercise, you will choose one of the entries in the SPARC site, and then write a two to three (2-3) page paper that meets the following requirements.1.      Begin your paper with a short introductory statement that clearly identifies the article from the SPARQ site that you are using, as well as the corresponding research article.  Model your statement after the following example:The article I selected from the SPARQ website is entitled “Boost Grades by Reframing Failures” (Wilson, n.d.), which summarizes a research article (Wilson & Linville, 1982) on the topic.§  Please note that there are two APA “in-text citations” in this example. The first citation “(Wilson, n.d.)” is an in-text citation for the SPARQ article. The SPARQ articles are undated, which means that there is no date of publication reported. The “n.d.” designation is an abbreviation for “no date”.§  The second citation “(Wilson & Linville, 1982)”, is an in-text citation to the original research article. We are asking you to cite this paper for practice in using APA, but are not requiring you to read the original paper. Normally, you should cite only those articles that you actually read and used, but we’re making an exception here for the purposes of practice.2.      Briefly summarize the main details of your chosen social psychology research study. Identify the main research method(s) used in the study (e.g., case study, experiment, observation, etc.).3.      Explain whether or not you believe the research methodology that the researchers used in the study was the most appropriate for the study. Provide a rationale for your response.4.      Discuss whether or not you believe the research methodology used in the study is the one (1) method that provides researchers with the most information in general. Explain the main reasons why or why not.5.      Explain the major ethical implications of the selected study (e.g., informed consent, debriefing, etc.). Describe the main reasons why you believe the study was or was not ethical. Provide a rationale for your response.6.      The final section of your paper will be a reference section that contains a corresponding reference for both of the in-text citations in your introductory statement (see point #1, above). In APA-style citations, in-text citations must match up with a reference in the reference section. You can model your reference section after the following:Wilson, T. D. (n.d.). Boost grades by reframing failures.  Retrieved from https://sparq.stanford.edu/solutions/boost-grades-reframing-failuresWilson, T. D. & Linville, P.W. (1982).  Improving the academic performance of college freshmen:  attribution therapy revisited.  Journal of Personality and Social Psychology, 42(2), 367-376.§  These examples follow the APA conventions for an Internet article, and a professional journal article, respectively.Your assignment must follow these formatting requirements:·         Be typed, double spaced, using Times New Roman font (size 12), with one-inch margins on all sides. Check with your professor for any additional instructions.·         Include a cover page containing the title of the assignment, the student’s name, the professor’s name, the course title, and the date. The cover page and the reference page are not included in the required assignment page length. The specific course learning outcomes associated with this assignment are:·         Describe research methods that are used for studying social psychology.·         Develop an increased understanding of the dynamic between society and individuals.·         Use technology and information resources to research issues in social psychology.·         Write clearly and concisely about social psychology using proper grammar and mechanics.

Assignment 1: The Problems of Evil and Suffering | 2025 Custom Writing

Assignment 1: The Problems of Evil and SufferingAll human beings encounter pain and suffering in life. This can present some difficult questions to organized religions. On some level, all religions answer fundamental questions of human existence, including, “why are we here?” Pain and suffering complicate these basic questions of human existence, whether the religion is monotheistic, polytheistic, or atheistic. Some people endure much more pain and suffering than others. Why is this so? What is the origin of suffering? Is evil external or internal? Does it have any meaning? How should we respond to it?Even more difficult is the problem of moral evil: some people deliberately cause other people to suffer. Why? If there is meaning in the universe, and especially if the universe is ruled by a beneficent deity, how can this be?Write an essay of 1,000 words that examines the basic positions of each of the five religious traditions considering these human questionsIn your essay, address the following questions:How does each religion respond to the problems of evil and suffering? How are those responses similar? In what ways do the responses differ? What factors account for these differences?Which way of addressing evil is the most similar to your own?
