Imagery In Poetry 2025

Imagery in Poetry By Thursday, post your response of at least 150-200 words to the Discussion Area. To support your comments, your discussion answers should include specific information and quotations from the readings. By Monday, comment on at least two of your classmates’ submissions. Your replies to classmates should be at least a paragraph in length and made with an eye to expand, clarify, defend, and/or refine their thoughts. Consider asking questions to further meaningful conversation. Be clear and concise, referring to specific ideas and words from your classmates’ postings. Participation must be completed by the end of the first week to earn credit. Prompt: Choose a poem from the assigned readings, which are listed in the Syllabus and found in our course eBook. Title your discussion response with the poem’s title. This will help other students see which poems have already been discussed. Once a poem has been discussed twice, please do not choose it for analysis. Review all of the thread starters including the closed list before beginning your response. Post a response of at least 150-200 words, focusing on the elements below. Identify the key images in the poem, which you believe are vital to understanding it. Provide a detailed discussion of how those images function in the poem. Do the images work together to form a coherent pattern? What ideas or feelings are conveyed by the images? How do the images contribute to the overall meaning of the poem? Tips Remember to provide evidence for your claims in the form of quoted passages from the poem. Quotations, paraphrases, and summaries should be cited according to APA rules of style, including in-text and reference citations. Quoted material should not exceed 25% of the document. Use the APA Citation Helper resource for properly citing resources. Post directly to the discussion; do not attach a document. Make sure you check spelling and grammar, and use APA style for citations. Example Response Students often ask to see a model of what is expected, so here is an example post: “The Oven Bird” is a sonnet by Robert Frost, and the poem focuses on a bird that sings a sad song about death and loss. Some of the key images include variations on singing, the seasons, and foliage, such as leaves and flowers. The following lines illustrate the use of these images: “He says that leaves are old and that for flowers/Mid-summer is to spring as one to ten/He says the early petal-fall is past/When pear and cherry bloom went down in showers” (Frost, 2016, Lines 4-7). The images in the poem work together to tell a story about the oven bird, which has a loud, discordant song that “makes the solid tree trunks sound again” (Frost, 2016, Line 3). The bird sings about having lost its first set of young to predators, and now the bird must learn to go on living with great loss. The sad yet brave feeling of the poem is summed up in the final couplet: “The question that he frames in all but words/Is what to make of a diminished thing” (Frost, 2016, Lines 13-14). Frost, R. (2016). The oven bird. In L.G. Kirszner & S.R. Mandell (Eds.), Compact Literature: Reading, Reacting, Writing [VitalSource digital version] (p. 123). Boston: Cengage.

2025 Topic 5 DQ 1 Health promotion and health education work together with the same goal and depend

2 Coments Each One 150 Words (CITATION AND REFERENCE) By 2/19 2025

Topic 5 DQ 1 Health promotion and health education work together with the same goal and depend on each other. Health education provides the tools, sources, experiences for health promotion of patients by helping them increase their knowledge and have control over diseases, avoid complications, reduce and reverse the effect of illness and understand the influence of internal and external Social Determinants Of Health; directing the patients to choose healthier ways towards wellness (Falkner, 2018). The nursing process uses the assessment to identify the problem and learn needs, diagnose, plan, implement, and evaluate with open-ended questions or have a return demonstration the patient’s understanding of materials to ensure that the correct information is received or if there are still some questions/concerns (Falkner, 2018). In that way, achieving health education/health promotion of patients. A contemporary issue that families experience today is not having access to health care services due to low incomes as well as high health and/or not being able to afford health insurance. Other issues are barriers in language and cultural differences where patients may not be receiving complete care. (Healthy People, 2020). Before addressing any problem, the nurse process should be followed as a model. Every health care worker must assess the patient asses to health care or needs and education level concerning the use of places. The diagnose will state the reason why there is no access to health care (no insurance, no close facility or no available services in the area, no money, no time, illegal or undocumented people). The plan will outline activities of how the nurse can provide education on where to access health care such as free clinics or government insurance, and health fairs. Implementation of the education provided will allow the nurse to provide and adjust according to the needs, resources that will increase and ease the access to health care for families. Also, recommending health care centers designed for low-income families. Evaluate how the patient understands the information and how to use it (Falkner, 2018).References Falkner, A. (2018). Retrieved from https://www.healthypeople.gov/2020/topics-objectives/topic/Access-to-Health-Services Topic 5 DQ 1 Health education is “any combination of learning experience designs to help individuals and communities improve their health, by increasing their knowledge or influencing their attitudes” (Falkner, 2018). The nurse role in health education in health promotion involves the knowledge and skills of the nursing process. Nurses are actively involved in both health education and health promotion in all tasks by using skills and knowledge to empower patients to live healthy lives. We ensure basic needs are met, assess the current needs, plan and implement strategies and evaluate its response. The nurse on contemporary affecting family issues involves gathering knowledge thru the assessment and wellness screens. Targeting behaviors modification such as diet, physical activity are simple everyday ways to encourage self-care. Families need support and guidance to face challenges, life as we know it is far from easy. Families are faced with a multiple of issues as society influences day to day life. Issues regarding safety such as Fires, falls, guns, drowning and poisoning (Falkner, 2018). These preventable issues are screened on every child wellness exam at my daughter’s pediatrician. My primary wellness exams also screen for falls, depression, substance abuse and suicides. These topics are often common- knowledge to the general public and families but one must not assume itand must be carefully be addressed. Global health is preventing transmission of diseases such as influenza, HIV, Zika, Ebola, C DIFF, MRSA and so on. Prevention is aimed at infection control practices and preventing the spread of communicable diseases.Encouraging all those we treat to get immunized for the flu yearly, importance of hand washing and staying home when sick. Health promotion for families is a crucial nursing role. We foster health promotion with education by staying up-to date on preventative practices. We support and encourage positive behavioral changes, we education on riskfactors, we offer supportive resources. In my practice preventing the flu is always a family discussion I have with my patients on ECMO. Influenza A is highly contagious and is preventable with a flu shot, I often see visitors, family members walking in my FLU ROOMS without even wearing a mask… or washing their hands… So I kindlystop them, inform them of the importance of proper protection and the importance of washing hands. Then I take the opportunity to discuss prevention. I’ve even encouraged families to get vaccinated and help them with locations of free- flu shots in our hospital proximity. Spreading the word, not the flu is my effort to prevent complication from the spread of the disease. I see first-hand preventable deaths from the flu affecting young otherwise healthy people. ECMO support is not available in all centers, so I encourage everyone you meet to get vaccinated. CDC has great flu prevention strategies. References: Falkner, A. (2018). Cultural Awareness.
