Discussion: Sexually Transmitted Infections The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention estimates that there are 19 million new cases of sexually transmitted infections every year in the United States (CDC, 2010b). STIs may present serious health implications for infected patients—especially for those who are unaware of their health condition. Studies show that women are not only at greater risk of contracting these infections, but they also tend to have more severe health problems resulting from infections than men (U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, 2009b). As an advanced practice nurse, you must educate female patients and emphasize the importance of prevention and STI testing for all women regardless of marital status, race, ethnicity, or socioeconomic status. For this Discussion, consider STI education strategies for the three patients in the following case studies: Case Study 1: A 19-year-old Asian American female comes into the clinic for a well-woman checkup. She states that about three weeks ago she had a non-tender sore on her labia that resolved without treatment. Her gynecologic exam is normal but she has maculopapular lesions on her trunk, neck, palms, and soles of her feet. The remainder of her exam was unremarkable. Post an explanation of the differential diagnosis for the patient in the case study you selected. Provide a minimum of three possible diagnoses, and list them from highest priority to lowest priority. Explain which is the most likely diagnosis for the patient and why. Then, explain a treatment and management plan for the patient, including appropriate dosages for any recommended treatments. Finally, explain strategies for educating patients on the sexually transmitted infection.

I agree with the article that nursing practices, physician behavior, medical procedures, and men are all ways in which the media sends incorrect messages about nursing. Of these four ways, the portrayal of men really sticks out. It is unfortunate that the male nurse is either non-existent in Hollywood, or portrayed at the stereotypical gay male nurse. Sadly many young men are deterred away from the profession because of the negative stereotypes that are placed on the male nurse (Berkowitz, 2016). A particular movie that comes to my mind when I think of the way that male nurses are depicted in Hollywood is “Meet the Fockers”. Gaylord Focker is a male nurse who is criticized and ridiculed by his future father-in-law for his career choice. Male nurses make up a small portion of the nursing population. There needs to be more emphasis on increasing the male nurses. It is thought that men can be beneficial especially when it comes to such issues as men’s health and reproduction. If more men can be enticed into the nursing career, it would help with the nursing shortage as well (Men in Nursing, 2011). positive response due today at 7:00 with referrnce. I have 5 more needed. Diabetes ib Hispanic Americans Adoloscents 2025

Review the Topic Materials and the work completed in NRS-433V to formulate a PICOT statement for your capstone project. A PICOT starts with a designated patient population in a particular clinical area and identifies clinical problems or issues that arise from clinical care. The intervention should be an independent, specified nursing change intervention. The intervention cannot require a provider prescription. Include a comparison to a patient population not currently receiving the intervention, and specify the timeframe needed to implement the change process. Formulate a PICOT statement using the PICOT format provided in the assigned readings. The PICOT statement will provide a framework for your capstone project. In a paper of 500-750 words, clearly identify the clinical problem and how it can result in a positive patient outcome. Make sure to address the following on the PICOT statement: Evidence-Based Solution Nursing Intervention Patient Care Health Care Agency Nursing Practice Prepare this assignment according to the guidelines found in the APA Style Guide, located in the Student Success Center. I NEED A POSTIVE COMMENT BASED IN THIS ARGUMENT..BETWEEN 100-10 WORDS The two nursing provisions I would like to discuss would be Advanced Practice Registered Nurse’s (APRN’s) and under the Section Additional Nursing Provisions, the Nurse-Managed Health Centers (NMHCs). These two provisions will expand the opportunities I have as I further my education. Advanced practice nursing, nurse practitioner, clinical nurse specialist, certified registered nurse anesthetist, certified nurse-midwife, nurse administrator or nurse executive, this provision will allow for many new jobs, and continued growth in the nursing profession. It also allows nurses to work in direct patient care settings outside of a hospital, performing many highly skilled procedures that would have been done in a hospital setting in the past. “Wellness and disease prevention, historically fundamental to the nursing profession, are becoming more meaningful and revitalized concepts within the larger health care system” (Cherry & Jacob, 2016, p. 464). Nurse-managed health centers, research shows that nurse managed health centers can reduce health disparities and meet people’s primary care and wellness needs. NMHC have been successful, but many NMHC find themselves in financial struggles. NMHCs see a high percentage of uninsured patients, 30%-60%. A federal grant program released $14.8 million in support of NMHCs, to provide high quality primary care for thousands of patients in need (Hansen-Turton, 2012). Cherry, B., & Jacob, S.R. (2016). Hello i need a Good and Positive Comment related with this argument .A paragraph with no more 100 words. Cynthia Dunn 1 posts Re:Topic 2 DQ 2 The one innovative health care delivery model that incorporates an interdisciplinary care delivery team is the Medical/Health homes delivery model. In this system, the patient has “one” primary care giver that coordinates ALL the care whether it may be needed for a specialist or as simple as a nutritional consult for preventative care and needed education. The team of professionals will focus on chronic condition management, to reduce need for visits to specialist and/or emergency rooms (ANA, 2010). In California, I found that the Health Homes Program serves eligible individuals with multiple chronic conditions that may benefit from management and coordination of their chronic illness. Health Homes provide six core services: Comprehensive care management Care coordination (physical health, behavioral health, community-based long-term support, and services Health promotion Comprehensive transitional care Individual and family support Referral to community and social support services Health Homes also include the use of health information technology and Health information exchange, to link services, as appropriate (DHCS, n.d.). Comment by this 2025

I chose to write about the ACO’s. An ACO (Accountable Care Organization) is an innovative approach to healthcare where collaboration among different healthcare providers is imperative (American Nurses Association, 2010). This is when a group of health care providers join together to accept financial responsibility for a patient (American Nurses Association, 2010). They also accept responsibility for the quality of care provided to their patients (American Nurses Association, 2010). Patients that are using ACO’s have their care managed more effectively while keeping everyone involved on the same page so that the care the patient is receiving is the best quality care possible. An “ACO professional” is a physician or other provider that is essentially in charge of organizing the care and the one to offer leadership within the group (American Nurses Association, 2010). Another added benefit to an ACO is that it is patient driven care (American Nurses Association, 2010). The patient has a vested interest in their own care and is able to contribute to what will work or is not working for them (American Nurses Association, 2010).
