For this week’s Assignment, consider your Final Project (Obesity in rural ADULTS in West Viginia)   and the possibility of applying for a grant to implement your intervention or study.

Explain how you would apply the skills and knowledge gained in this course to the grant writing process. What strategies would you use when submitting an RFP and an FOA? Be specific and provide an example of how you would apply at least one skill you have learned and at least one example of knowledge gained from the course.

My PROPOSAL topic: addressing obesity in rural ADULTS in West Virginia by implementing a 12 weeks Intervention that teaches the adults with BMI>25 enrolled in my program the following: education material about Weigh and BMI, medical implications of Overweight and Obesity, healthy nutritious diet and regular physical activity. THIS is my proposal. YOU HAVE to CONTINUE IT by applying for a GRANT to implement my Proposal 

Leadership models and theories help define approaches for creating effective behaviors within specific situations or environments. Examine contemporary leadership models and theories and in a 1,000-1,250-word paper, explain why these models or theories are effective tools for leaders who serve in health care organizations. Include the following:

1. Discuss the correlation between effective leadership and organizational performance in health care.
2. Discuss why it is important for regulatory professionals to practice good leadership. Outline effective strategies for regulatory leadership and explain why these are essential in health care.
3. Describe how the concept of stewardship from servant leadership relates to a Christian worldview. Explain how stewardship relates to professional responsibility, how it can be applied in a health care setting that serves diverse populations, and the potential benefits for stakeholders and the organization overall.
4. Distinguish between informal and formal leadership. Explain how informal leaders influence others and how this impacts a health care organization.
5. Select one additional theory or model that you think would be effective for a health care leader to employ. Provide an overview of the model or theory and explain what aspects would be effective and why.

A minimum of three academic references from credible sources are required for this assignment.

Prepare this assignment according to the guidelines found in the APA Style Guide, located in the Student Success Center. An abstract is not required. 

This assignment uses a rubric. Please review the rubric prior to beginning the assignment to become familiar with the expectations for successful completion. 

 Reflect on Florida’s current health education programs such as Zika Free Florida, Tobacco Free Florida and consider what part the media plays in such disease prevention programs. Identify a specific public health issue that you believe needs to be highlighted in health policy and based on your textbook readings discuss how social media can be used as a health promotion tool to improve public awareness on the selected topic. 

 As a reminder, all discussion posts must be minimum 250 words, references must be cited in APA format, and must include minimum of 2 scholarly resources published within the past 5-7 years.

Homework Assignment

Write a paper in which you do the following:

Select an infectious disease and discuss its transmission and control measures. Try to select a disease not already covered or mentioned in the Syllabus. Be sure to identify the reservoir(s) of your selected infectious disease.

Support your paper with evidence from the literature.

Length: 2–3 pages, excluding title page and references.

Assignment Expectations

Assessment and Grading: Your paper will be assessed based on the performance assessment rubric that is linked within the course. Review it before you begin working on the assignment.

Your work should also follow these Assignment Expectations.

 A patient is due to have a PET scan but is claustrophobic so the physician orders 2 mg of Versed for anxiety. The nurse then went to fill this prescription from one of the hospital’s electronic prescribing cabinets, which allows staff to search for medicines by name through a computer system.

The nurse could not find the Versed, so the nurse triggered an “override” feature that unlocks more powerful medications.

The nurse then typed the first two letters in the drug’s name – “VE” – into the cabinet computer and selected the first medicine suggested by the machine, not realizing it was vecuronium, not Versed. The nurse then goes and overrides the barcode scanning system and administers the 2 mg of vecuronium.

The patient goes to the radiology department for the PET scan and while there goes into cardiac arrest and dies.
