Nurse administrators are given an opportunity to apply the theories and principles studied from this course to realistic nursing issues, using evidence to support creative decision making. Issues were identified, gaps were described, problems were analyzed, and solutions proposed that simulated the types of decisions that advanced nurse leaders will need to make in actual nursing venues. For this presentation, the learner will:

• Develop 3 objectives for change and explain the 3 considerations on a Micro and Macro level.
• Identify three leadership strategies that can be utilized to manage positive, effective change within an organization
• Discuss how the leadership strategies chosen can support individual behaviors
• Analyze how the chosen leadership strategies can be used to improve intrapersonal and interpersonal situations
• Discuss the role of the nurse administrator as an organizational leader and change agent.  

This PowerPoint® (Microsoft Office) or Impress® (Open Office) presentation should be a minimum of 20 slides, including a title, introduction, conclusion and reference slide, with detailed speaker notes and recorded audio comments for all content slides. Use at least four scholarly sources and make certain to review the module’s Signature Assignment Rubric before starting your presentation. This presentation is worth 400 points for quality content and presentation.

 Currently there are several states in the U.S that have enacted Death with Dignity Statutes. The first state to enact such a law was Oregon. These statutes were not enacted without controversy. For this week’s written assignment, research one of the states that enacted a Death with Dignity statute. In your paper, summarize the applicable statute.  Be sure to include information on how a patient would obtain the necessary means to end their life. For example, how do they qualify, what is the process to obtain the end of life medications, etc.? Share your thoughts about the Death with Dignity Statutes. Do you agree or disagree? Why? 

Choose a professional nursing organization that relates to the nursing profession or your clinical practice area. Assuming that you are the chairperson of membership for the organization, create a full-page flyer designed to recruit new members to the professional organization. In your flyer, include: 1.The function of the organization, as well as its mission and vision. 2.Potential advantages of membership in the organization. 3.Provide resource information for new members, including contact information, membership requirements, and organizational endorsements (i.e., what other members or other organizations are saying about the selected organization). 4.Create a topic for an upcoming meeting that would appeal to your target audience.  While APA format is not required for the body of this assignment, solid academic writing is expected, and in-text citations and references should be presented using APA documentation guidelines, which can be found in the APA Style Guide, located in the Student Success Center.  This assignment uses a rubric. Review the Healthy People 2020 objectives for the older adult. Of the objectives listed for the older adult, which do you feel is most important? Be sure to include examples and references to support your response.
 

There are several vulnerable populations that have a chronic illness (older; homeless; and lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender populations) that face challenges when it comes to care. Choose one vulnerable population and discuss what can be done to help alleviate these challenges.
