2023 Respond to your colleagues by offering one or more additional mitigation strategies or further

Nursing 2023 Response #1

Respond to your colleagues by offering one or more additional mitigation strategies or further 2023 Assignment

Respond to your colleagues by offering one or more additional mitigation strategies or further insight into your colleagues’ assessment of big data opportunities and risks.

At least 2 references in each peer responses!

The first potential benefit of using big data as part of a clinical system is improving the quality and accuracy of clinical decisions (Wang, Kung, & Byrd, 2018). Nurses are continually faced with decisions that will impact patients’ lives (Bjork & Hamilton, 2011). Big data can result in significant changes in healthcare, and it is essential to ensure improved patient outcomes.

Second, a potential challenge or risk of using big data as part of a clinical system is that data can only measure so much. There are many things data can’t measure, such as the commitment of nurses or the follow-through of education given to patients after discharge (Thew, 2016). This results in having to advocate for these things based on passion and experiences rather than having data to back you up (Thew, 2016). This can be frustrating for nurses due to the amount of commitment, education, and sacrifices made in this profession.

In my experiences, I have seen that there is a lot of data related to Congestive Heart Failure (CHF) exacerbation prevention while in the hospital. We also educate patients diligently to ensure they understand to weigh themselves daily, take breaks, wear their oxygen, and limit salt intake. If a patient is re-admitted with a CHF exacerbation after discharge, that looks bad on the hospital and nursing staff. There is no way to measure how excellent education was given to this patient or what was done when they were at home. This is an example of how nurses’ commitment or quality care cannot be measured.

Question 1 Top of Form As you critically evaluate a study you must decide whether 2023 Assignment

Question 1

Top of Form

As you critically evaluate a study, you must decide whether you agree or disagree with the researcher’s theoretical framework (the underlying assumption or theory that supported the formation of the hypothesis and the development of the research design).

Choose one scenario and one hypothesis from that scenario. Identify your personal assumptions about this hypothesis and choose a nursing theory to support your assumptions. You may use information from http://www.nursing-theory.org/theories-and-models/ to help you. Defend your answer.

Scenario 1: A patient with chronic back pain requests a narcotic prescription.

Hypothesis: In patients with chronic back pain not caused by injury, what is the effect of eight weeks of physical therapy compared to oral narcotic medication on the patients’ perception of pain?

Question 2

I read a research poster recently at an international conference.  The authors were testing whether providing a mindfulness breathing session for nursing students prior to entering a planned simulation experience would increase their situational awareness.  They had a nice report with data analysis numbers of the student satisfaction following the experience. Did the researchers measure the dependent variable?

Nursing 2023 Research in Nursing

If you are using a survey or a measurement tool to measure the data for your research proposal 2023 Assignment

If you are using a survey or a measurement tool to measure the data for your research proposal, it must measure what you are researching (your hypothesis or research question).   Sounds simple….but many students get off track here.  Your survey should measure your dependent variable (outcome) in order to be valid. So, if I am researching whether the average nurse can read the tiny print on a medication bottle, the dependent variable would be the ability to read the bottle accurately.  Therefore, my survey would have questions related to what the nurses actually read on the bottle (or if they were able to read it at all).

Nursing 2023 The Impact of Nursing Informatics on Patient Outcomes and Patient Care Efficiencies

In the Discussion for this module you considered the interaction of nurse 2023 Assignment

In the Discussion for this module, you considered the interaction of nurse informaticists with other specialists to ensure successful care. How is that success determined?

Patient outcomes and the fulfillment of care goals is one of the major ways that healthcare success is measured. Measuring patient outcomes results in the generation of data that can be used to improve results. Nursing informatics can have a significant part in this process and can help to improve outcomes by improving processes, identifying at-risk patients, and enhancing efficiency.

To Prepare:

  • Review the concepts of technology application as presented in the Resources.
  • Reflect on how emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence may help fortify nursing informatics as a specialty by leading to increased impact on patient outcomes or patient care efficiencies.

The Assignment: (4-5 pages)

In a 4- to 5-page project proposal written to the leadership of your healthcare organization, propose a nursing informatics project for your organization that you advocate to improve patient outcomes or patient-care efficiency. Your project proposal should include the following:

  • Describe the project you propose.
  • Identify the stakeholders impacted by this project.
  • Explain the patient outcome(s) or patient-care efficiencies this project is aimed at improving and explain how this improvement would occur. Be specific and provide examples.
  • Identify the technologies required to implement this project and explain why.
  • Identify the project team (by roles) and explain how you would incorporate the nurse informaticist in the project team.

H Pylori Treatment and Patient Education H Pylori is a bacterium that is found in the stomach of many people 2023 Assignment

H. Pylori Treatment and Patient Education

H. Pylori is a bacterium that is found in the stomach of many people around the world. The disease can cause stomach ulcers and stomach cancer. The treatment methods for the disease includes taking several drugs for approximately 14 days. ( Crowe, S. (2018). One of the treatment regimen includes a proton pump inhibitor. This type of medication reduces the ability of the stomach to produce acid. Reduced production of acid enables the damaged tissues in the stomach to heal. Proton pump inhibitors are lansoprazole (Prevacid), omeprazole (Prilosec), pantoprazole (Protonix), rabeprazole (AcipHex), dexlansoprazole (Dexilant), and esomeprazole (Nexium). A dose of two antibiotics is usually recommended in order to reduce the risk of the antibiotics failing and resistance of the bacteria to drugs.

Patients who have active gastric or duodenum ulcers should be tested. Patients who have also suffered from ulcers before should also be diagnosed for H. Pylori. People who come from a family with a history of peptic ulcers should also go for testing. When under medication, patients who are taking metronidazole should avoid consuming alcoholic drinks such as beer and wine. Combining alcoholic beverages can lead to severe effects such as increased heartbeat, vomiting, nausea, and skin flushing. It is not uncommon for the medication to fail, in case a prescription does not resolve the problem, and it is advisable to go for another prescription. The prescription also takes 14 days but it comprises of different drugs from the first dose. After treatment, it is advisable to go back for another checkup to confirm that the disease has been dealt with completely.

In conclusion, treatment for H. Pylori involves taking several antibiotics for 14 days. The drugs sometimes fail to solve the problem, in such a case, the patient should go back for another prescription. After getting well, the patient should go back for treatment to confirm that the infection has been resolved.
