Ethics Position – 2025
A husband of more than 50 years said he had run out of options.
His wife, 78, had been seriously ill for the last 15 years. The cost of her medications had become so expensive that they could no longer afford it. He decided that on Monday morning while she was sleeping, he would shoot her in the head to relieve her pain and suffering.
The man killed his wife at 7:30 a.m. while she was asleep. He then put the gun on a dresser, went into the kitchen had some coffee. He then called his daughters to tell them what he had done before calling 911 later that afternoon. He told police that his children knew that his wife wanted to die because she was in so much pain, and that he had been thinking of killing her for several days. The man apologized to police for not calling them earlier in the day but said he had wanted to let his children know what had happened first.
At the police station, the man told police that his wife had been sick for a very long time and had multiple ailments that required numerous medications. The man said that he could not afford to buy all the medications and still keep a roof over their heads.
According to AARP, an advocacy group for people over 50, specialty drugs that treat chronic conditions such as the rheumatoid arthritis that his wife had, are extremely expensive, sometimes costing thousands of dollars per dose.
Records show that the man and his wife had filed for bankruptcy in 2011, and the man worked in retail for a short time to try to pay for the medications. The man was arrested and charged with first-degree premeditated murder. But the case appeared to also highlight the difficulties faced by older people who are retired or on fixed incomes and struggle to pay for their medicine when they are ill or in pain. The man was very emotional about the situation and knew that he was going to jail, but said that he was out of options to help his wife.

BHE310 Module 4 Discussion – 2025
1. Thinking back to the Leading Health Indicator upon which you chose to focus in Module 1, are we “on target” to meet the goal/objectives associated with that indicator by 2020? Please explain your response. (250 words)
2. For this reflective discussion: Reflect upon two concepts that you learned in this course.
Reflection is a mental process that challenges you to use critical thinking to examine the course information, analyze it carefully, make connections with previous knowledge and experience, and draw conclusions based on the resulting ideas. A well-cultivated critical thinker raises vital questions and problems, formulating them clearly and precisely; gathers and assesses relevant information, using abstract ideas to interpret it effectively; comes to well-reasoned conclusions and solutions, testing them against relevant criteria and standards; thinks open-mindedly within alternative systems of thought, recognizing and assessing, as need be, their assumptions, implications, and practical consequences; and communicates effectively with others in figuring out solutions to complex problems. (Paul & Elder, 2008)
In order to earn maximum credit, the comment should be more than your opinion, and more than a quick “off the top of your head” response. Be sure to support your statements, cite sources properly, cite within the text of your comments, and list your reference(s). The response must be a minimum of 250 words.

Final Assigment – 2025
Directions
In this Assignment, you will create a presentation using any form of presentation software (e.g., PowerPoint®, Prezi™, Powtoons™, Slidedog™, and so on). Your presentation should bring together the conceptual framework, model and theory that best fits your concept of advanced practice nursing related to your role after graduation.
Please remember that your presentation should contain slides that have bullet points. The bullets should number no more than four to six per slide. The bullet point is not written as a complete sentence. It contains key words. You, as the presenter will explain in depth what each bullet point means in the audio portion of the presentation. Slides may contain graphics, but should be uncluttered. Background and font colors should be of sufficient contrast to make reading them easy on the eyes. Attention to colors should be paid so that a person who is colorblind can easily read the presentation.
Assignment Details
The presentation should consist of a series of slides that include:
Title Slide: A title slide that identifies the title of the presentation and name of the student.
Introduction Slide: An introduction slide that includes brief information about you and your program track. The slide should also explain to the audience the purpose of the presentation.
Conceptual Slides: The third and fourth slide will focus on a conceptual framework that aligns to your professional nursing practice. The fourth slide should include why you chose the conceptual framework and how you will apply it in practice.
Model Slides: The fifth and sixth slides will address your chosen model. The bullet points should consist of the specific characteristics of the model. You will need at least one citation that identifies where the model came from. Your audio will expound upon the model and what the characteristics mean. The fifth slide should include why you chose the model and how you will apply it in practice.
Theory Slides: The next three slides will focus on your chosen theory. The first slide should present your theory and why you chose it. The next slide would present the key concepts of the theory and how it has been used to date in past research no older than five years ago. The third slide will discuss how you will use this theory in practice as an advance practice nurse upon graduation.
Graphical Slide: The next-to-last slide will be a graphical representation of how the conceptual framework, model, theory fit together.
Conclusion Slide: The last slide will be a conclusion that brings together everything you have presented. It is not a summary that just reiterates what you presented. It is a judgment about what you presented and brings the audience home, ending the presentation on a positive note about the future.
You will need supporting citations for your slides as appropriate and your very last slide will be a reference slide.
The total slide count should not exceed 15 slides. This does not include the reference slide(s) or the title slide.
Organization, documentation, references formatting guidelines must follow APA 6th edition: To view the Grading Rubric for this Assignment, please visit the Grading Rubrics section of the Course Resources.

NR632 Week 2 SR – 2025
Respond:
Project management consists of planning, organizing, coordinating, and controlling recourses to reach goals and objectives set for the project (Rugenyi, 2016). For a project manager to generate a successful project, many factors are required, such as a scope and charter, budget requirements, identifying stakeholders, addressing potential risks, and creating a timeframe to meet project milestones. One technique that helps encompass every aspect of the project management process is utilizing the triple constraint triangle. The triple constraint triangle involves time, cost, and performance and helps establish balance (Rugenyi, 2016).
Creating a successful project management change can be difficult, and the two most important aspects of the triple constraint triangle are cost and quality. A project manager must be able to control costs to identify potential problems, which may increase the proposed budget (Miri & Khaksefidi, 2015). Cost control can be a challenging task, but one that is extremely important to create a successful project change. Cost control consists of five steps, such as determining the desired cost, calculating the real costs, comparing the actual cost to the value of the project, analyzing any possible deviations, and recommending ways to correct variations in cost (Miri & Khakesfidi, 2015). A project manager who is aware of the budget and how to prevent incidents that may increase expenses can uphold the allotted funding while producing a positive project outcome.
The second important aspect of a well-planned project is quality. Being able to implement and sustain a quality project should be the overall goal of any project manager. Quality is considered vital to a project because it increases competitiveness, production, reduces costs, and helps ensure long-term project change commitment (Ljevo, Vukomanovic, & Dzebo, 2018). A project that can maintain its quality and is cost-efficient will help to meet the vision, mission, and values of the entire organization.
The concept that that poses the most threat to any project is time. Time can be the biggest hurdle that a project management process must overcome. Projects that are unable to stay on schedule threatens the other components of the triple constraint triangle. A plan which goes off schedule jeopardizes costs and quality at the same time when a project takes more time to complete it than increases the monetary needs and may cause the project management team to attempt to cut corners and reduce the quality of the desired outcomes.
