Assignment 1: Lab Assignment: Differential Diagnosis for Skin Conditions Photo Credit: Getty Images/iStockphoto Properly identifying the cause and type of a patient’s skin condition involves a process of elimination known as differential diagnosis. Using this process, a health professional can take a given set of physical abnormalities, vital signs, health assessment findings, and patient descriptions of symptoms, and incrementally narrow them down until one diagnosis is determined as the most likely cause. In this Lab Assignment, you will examine several visual representations of various skin conditions, describe your observations, and use the techniques of differential diagnosis to determine the most likely condition. To Prepare Review the Skin Conditions document provided in this week’s Learning Resources, and select one condition to closely examine for this Lab Assignment. Consider the abnormal physical characteristics you observe in the graphic you selected. How would you describe the characteristics using clinical terminologies? Explore different conditions that could be the cause of the skin abnormalities in the graphics you selected. Consider which of the conditions is most likely to be the correct diagnosis, and why. Search the Walden library for one evidence-based practice, peer-reviewed article based on the skin condition you chose for this Lab Assignment. Review the Comprehensive SOAP Exemplar found in this week’s Learning Resources to guide you as you prepare your SOAP note. Download the SOAP Template found in this week’s Learning Resources, and use this template to complete this Lab Assignment. The Lab Assignment Choose one skin condition graphic (identify by number in your Chief Complaint) to document your assignment in the SOAP (Subjective, Objective, Assessment, and Plan) note format rather than the traditional narrative style. Refer to Chapter 2 of the Sullivan text and the Comprehensive SOAP Template in this week’s Learning Resources for guidance. Remember that not all comprehensive SOAP data are included in every patient case. Use clinical terminologies to explain the physical characteristics featured in the graphic. Formulate a differential diagnosis of three to five possible conditions for the skin graphic that you chose. Determine which is most likely to be the correct diagnosis and explain your reasoning using at least three different references, one reference from current evidence-based literature from your search and two different references from this week’s Learning Resources. Students have 2 assignments due this week. You will choose a lesion to document the SOAP note and secondly, this week is our first Shadow Health Assignment. There are several student tips, how to upload the lab pass, etc. located in the course. Regarding the SOAP notes, there is not enough information. I advise you to make up the information that is not there (ie. Health hx, social hx, etc). This will allow you to critically think as you develop the notes. You need to know that the DCE score is not the only score that counts as your grade, it is only a portion of the grade. You must complete the documentation portion. Also, we have noted that in SH, the ROS is not located in the documentation portion but is located in the subjective data collection portion. Remember to document as the SOAP order. I advise you to review my SOAP document send last week for guidance. Last week we engulfed in great conversation on the risks of our findings about growth, measurements, and nutrition of children and their families. As practitioners, it’s important to communicate professionally, ask the right questions, and guide families as they strive to have healthier and happy lives. This week we will begin to review assessments of body systems. Skin, Hair, and Nails will be covered. I encourage you to perform the assessment of Skin, Hair, and Nails so that you may be proficient with it for the overall assessment. You are able to access the check lists by enrolling into the evolve website in your resources. You first assignment for this week is to be written in a SOAP Note format (NO NARRATIVES). There is a template/sample for you to follow posted in your announcements at the beginning of the semester. You will need to put in the missing information in the note (some may be made up ie meds, hx, parts of the ROS and PE). In the Assessment/Plan, you will document your differential diagnoses as per the assignment. I will comment on your notes and if needed, send you an email if I need to help you with them more. Assignment 1: The Lab Assignment · Choose one skin condition graphic (identify by number in your Chief Complaint) to document your assignment in the SOAP (Subjective, Objective, Assessment, and Plan) note format rather than the traditional narrative style. Refer to Chapter 2 of the Sullivan text and the Comprehensive SOAP Template in this week’s Learning Resources for guidance. Remember that not all comprehensive SOAP data are included in every patient case. · Use clinical terminologies to explain the physical characteristics featured in the graphic. Formulate a differential diagnosis of three to five possible conditions for the skin graphic that you chose. Determine which is most likely to be the correct diagnosis and explain your reasoning using at least three different references , one reference from current evidence-based literature from your search and two different references from this week’s Learning Resources.

by adminModule 1 Assignment: Case Study Analysis,NURS 6501: Advanced Pathophysiology 2025
An understanding of cells and cell behavior is a critically important component of disease diagnosis and treatment. But some diseases can be complex in nature, with a variety of factors and circumstances impacting their emergence and severity. Effective disease analysis often requires an understanding that goes beyond isolated cell behavior. Genes, the environments in which cell processes operate, the impact of patient characteristics, and racial and ethnic variables all can have an important impact. Photo Credit: Getty Images/Hero Images An understanding of the signals and symptoms of alterations in cellular processes is a critical step in the diagnosis and treatment of many diseases. For APRNs, this understanding can also help educate patients and guide them through their treatment plans. In this Assignment, you examine a case study and analyze the symptoms presented. You identify cell, gene, and/or process elements that may be factors in the diagnosis, and you explain the implications to patient health. To prepare: By Day 1 of this week, you will be assigned to a specific case study for this Case Study Assignment. Please see the “Course Announcements” section of the classroom for your assignment from your Instructor. The Assignment (1- to 2-page case study analysis) Develop a 1- to 2-page case study analysis in which you: Explain why you think the patient presented the symptoms described. Identify the genes that may be associated with the development of the disease. Explain the process of immunosuppression and the effect it has on body systems. By Day 7 of Week 2 Submit your Case Study Analysis Assignment by Day 7 of Week 2 . Reminder: The College of Nursing requires that all papers submitted include a title page, introduction, summary, and references. The sample paper provided at the Walden Writing Center provides an example of those required elements (available at https://academicguides.waldenu.edu/writingcenter/templates ). All papers submitted must use this formatting.

by adminAnalyzing Assessment Data 2025
Data from assessments can used to determine if learners are meeting course or learning outcomes. Assessments can be utilized in many ways, such as learner practice, learner self-assessment, determining readiness, determine grades, etc. The purpose of this assignment is to analyze sample test statistics to determine if learning has taken place. To address the questions below in this essay assignment, you will need to use the information from your textbook chapter readings and the data provided in the “NUR-648E Sample Item Analysis” resource. In a 1,000-1,250 word essay respond to the following questions: Explain what reliability is and whether this test is reliable based on the “Sample Item Analysis” resource. What evidence supports your answer? What trends are seen in the raw scores? How would an instructor use this information? What is the range for this sample? What information does the range provide and why is it important? What information does the standard error of measurement provide? Does the test have a small or large standard error of measurement? How would an instructor use this information? Explain the process of analyzing individual items once an instructor has analyzed basic concepts of measurement. If one of the questions on the exam had a p value of .100, would it be a best practice to eliminate the item? Justify your answer. If one of the questions on the exam has a negative PBI for the correct option and one or more of the distractors have a positive PBI, what information does this give the instructor? How would you recommend that the instructor adjust this item? Based on the “Sample Item Analysis” resource, what steps would you take to improve learning? Prepare this assignment according to the guidelines found in the APA Style Guide, located in the Student Success Center. This assignment uses a rubric. Please review the rubric prior to beginning the assignment to become familiar with the expectations for successful completion. You are required to submit this assignment to LopesWrite.

by adminPOWER POINT PRESENTATION WITH SPEAKER NOTES. 2025
Prepare a 10-15 slide PowerPoint presentation, with speaker notes, that examines the significance of an organization’s culture and values . For the presentation of your PowerPoint, use Loom to create a voice-over or a video. Refer to the Topic Materials for additional guidance on recording your presentation with Loom. Include an additional slide for the Loom link at the beginning, and an additional slide for References at the end. 1. Outline the purpose of an organization’s mission, vision, and values. 2. Explain why an organization’s mission, vision, and values are significant to nurse engagement and patient outcomes. 3. Explain what factors lead to conflict in a professional practice. Describe how organizational values and culture can influence the way conflict is addressed. 4. Discuss effective strategies for resolving workplace conflict and encouraging interprofessional collaboration. 5. Discuss how organizational needs and the culture of health care influence organizational outcomes. Describe how these relate to health promotion and disease prevention from a community health perspective. While APA style format is not required for the body of this assignment, solid academic writing is expected, and in-text citations and references should be presented using APA documentation guidelines, which can be found in the APA Style Guide, located in the Student Success Center. Just some guidelines: Do NOT read your slides as I (audience) can see the slide. Rather, further explain the information you placed on the slide with examples and expanded examples when you are recording in LOOM. Pretend you are delivering the presentation to a live audience. You would not “Read” all the slides if you were doing a live presentation. You would discuss what is one the slides and add examples. Make sure to include speaker notes in your power point but when you record your presentation, you will also add more conversation than you inserted as speaker notes. Do not place large amounts of text on the slides as it clutters the slides. Rather you can insert short paragraphs, phrases, etc and then enter your speaker notes in the white space BELOW the actual slide, and then your LOOM presentation will be longer in length as you bring the presentation all together. Do NOT insert large pictures nor copyrighted pictures in your power point as it makes your file too large to submit. You may use 1-3 very small pictures if you feel the need to do so but pictures are not required. If your file is too large to submit to the gradebook, you will have to remove pictures, so please be mindful of this. I will have to present this assignment to loom in my student portal. DO NOT INCLUDE PCTURES for me. Please consider the rubric included below the assignment. Thank you.
