Knowledge and application of development theory constitutes a foundational component of the PMHNP role. You will need to expand your knowledge of theories for professional practice. This week you will choose an attachment, behavioral, cognitive, humanistic, or biological developmental theory.

For this discussion forum, using your chosen theory, identify what happens as individuals move through developmental stages. Address the following in your initial post:

• How can interruptions in the achievement of developmental stages affect an individual?
• According to your theory, identify the developmental vulnerabilities that could precipitate mental health symptoms.

Reply to at least two of your classmates. In your reply posts, you should compare and contrast your own viewpoints to your peer’s post.

Your response should include evidence-based research to support your statements using proper citations and APA format.

Introduction
Kant’s famous First Formulation of the Categorical Imperative reads, “Act only according to that maxim whereby you can at the same time will that it should become a universal law.” Kant taught morality as a matter of following maxims of living that reflect absolute laws. “Universal” is a term that allows for no exceptions, and what is universal applies always and everywhere. Don’t forget about the second formulation of the categorical imperative which states, “Act in such a way that you treat humanity, whether in your own person or in the person of another, always at the same time as an end and never simply as a means.” It is just as important.

Initial Post Instructions
For the initial post, address one of the following sets of questions:

1. What are the personal and/or communal ethical factors that may be involved in determining the moral position of either side given a contemporary debate, such as those concerning animal rights, stem cell research, abortion, the death penalty, and so forth?
2. Elaborate in detail the ethical positions arrived at by using the Kantian categorical imperative relative to the long standing debate surrounding the death penalty or abortion. Argue the ethics from the point of view of the prisoner or from the fetus
3. Evaluate the ethical positions in part two. You will want to detail whether they are convincing, logical, correct, consistent, etc.

• Minimum of 2 sources cited (assigned readings/online lessons and an outside scholarly source)
• APA format for in-text citations and list of references

Throughout the RN-to-BSN program, students are required to participate in scholarly activities outside of clinical practice or professional practice. Examples of scholarly activities include attending conferences, seminars, journal club, grand rounds, morbidity and mortality meetings, interdisciplinary committees, quality improvement committees, and any other opportunities available at your site, within your community, or nationally.

You are required to post at least one documented scholarly activity by the end of this course. In addition to this submission, you are required to be involved and contribute to interdisciplinary initiatives on a regular basis.

Submit, by way of this assignment, a summary report of the scholarly activity, including who, what, where, when, and any relevant take-home points. Include the appropriate program competencies associated with the scholarly activity as well as future professional goals related to this activity. You may use the “Scholarly Activity Summary” resource to help guide this assignment.

While APA style is not required for the body of this assignment, solid academic writing is expected, and in-text citations and references should be presented using APA documentation guidelines, which can be found in the APA Style Guide, located in the Student Success Center.

 Case Study 2 66-year-old female patient comes to your clinic with a PMH of Hypertension and arthritis in her right  knee. Pt states that 72 hours ago she underwent an infiltration in his right knee at this rheumatologist  doctor’s office because she complained of pain no resolved with NSAID. Today she presented to your primary office with pain in her right knee, with signs and symptoms of  fever (102ºF) and reduced mobility.
