Roles of Healthcare Professionals

This assignment will be at least 1500 words or more. Reflect on the roles of nurses, and other healthcare professionals as the roles of physicians in the healthcare system moves from one of working in silos to a more progressive value-based system. Write a paper that discusses in detail why a value-based system may improve health care in the U. S. and address the following questions:

• How has current policy transformed the current practice of nurses, physicians, and other healthcare professionals?
• What distinction can you make between physicians/healthcare providers working in a fee-for-service system and a value-based care system?
• How do you view shared power between physicians and nurses in your healthcare system? How does it impact care?

Assignment Expectations

Length: 1500-2000 words in length

Structure: Include a title page and reference page in APA format. These do not count towards the minimal word amount for this assignment.  Your essay must include an introduction and a conclusion.

References: Use the appropriate APA style in-text citations and references for all resources utilized to answer the questions. A minimum of two (2) scholarly sources are required for this assignment.

  

Instructions for Answer to 4 Question

1- After Each DQ (question), write down references

2- 300 minimum words for every DQ, you can go up to 800 words but answer should be complete.

3- 2-3 Peer Reviewed/ scholarly references for each question

4- References should be within 4 years

5- I am in acute care nurse practitioner program.

6- The response to the DQ is expected to be a minimum of 300 words. A minimum of two peer reviewed/ scholarly  resources are expected. These need to be appropriate for a clinical professional to guide decisions about patient care. If a textbook is used for one of these responses, the other needs to be journal or professional-level website. The references need to be correctly formatted, as do the citations for those references.  “ Question words” don’t count towards 300 minimum count”

The ongoing changes in the health-care landscape are influenced most by globalization, economic and technological factors, and the aging of the population. The complexity of the healthcare environment requires us to examine the leadership needs for the APN roles that are applicable for today and the future (Joel, 2018). In chapter 21 (Leadership for APNs: If Not Now, Then When?) the author outlines serval leadership theories or styles including:

• Situational or Contingency Leadership;
• Servant Leadership;
• Transformational or Transactional Leardershp;
• Relational Leadership;
• Clinical Leadership and Congruent Leadership.

Select one of the above leadership theories or style.

1. Using your own words define the theory.
2. Considering the various APN roles (Clinician, Educator, Researcher, Administrator, Entrepreneur, Consultant, and Leader) describe how you might use the leadership theory in your future APN role.
3. From your experience as a professional nurse, give one example of the selected leadership theory or style as seen in action or provide an exemplary example.
