PLEASE NO PLAGIARIZED WORK As we enter assessment 4 there are two 2023 Assignment

PLEASE, NO PLAGIARIZED WORK.

As we enter assessment 4, there are two sections that need to be completed.  In part one, you will need to address four questions on how you relate diversity in your organization and how it reflects the change in the organization and patient care.  For the fourth question, make sure you do your research on one of the companies and as always make sure your work is cited and appropriately referenced.

Part 2 of the assessment asks that you create a short video.  Please try and keep it within the 3-5-minute window.  This will be a compressed presentation when you address each topic question. Be creative and be personable in your presentation and try not to sound like your reading or monotone in your presentation. Remember that uploading videos into BB takes a long time based on duration.

Below are some thoughts for this week’s units.

1.  Think about who your audience is that you and make your presentation relatable to them.

2. Use personal experiences that are relatable to the assignment, as you have in earlier assessments.

3. Make sure you include a discussion section relating how your organization can use these strategy points in your righting when concluding your part 1 paper.

4. Reflections should include diversity within your organization and if it affects patient care in a positive or negative way make sure you support your viewpoints.

5. Make sure your video includes references and citations for photos and content.

6. Be creative in your presentation

Competency 4 Assesment Part 1

Part 1:

For this Competency Assessment, review the following document:

Aperian Global. (2015). Leaders in diversity and inclusion: 5 lessons from top global companies. Retrieved from https://www.aperianglobal.com/leaders-diversity-inclusion-5-lessons-top-global-companies/

Think about how the lessons impact the healthcare organization. Write an analysis of the article by addressing the following:

· How do the lessons, in the article, relate to diversity in your organization?

· How do lessons, in the article, reflect change in supporting diversity in your organization?

· How could the lessons, in the article, affect change in the way the patients receive care?

· Select one of the top five (5) companies discussed in the article. Do additional research on that company and see what strategies the company uses to support their diverse employees (i.e., bonus incentives, hiring process, diversity statement, etc.). Provide a summary of what you have learned and relate this to how your organization can utilize some of the strategies.

When developing a curriculum, it is important to understand not only what needs to be taught, but the type of learners you will be attempting to teach. The choosing of content and concepts for a course or curriculum, the involvement of the learner, and methods for assessment and evaluation can all be determined when using theories to develop a curriculum (Billings and Halstead, 2016, pp 211). More importantly, learning theories provide an explanation of the interaction between student and faculty, the environment set up for learning, and the subject being taught (Billings and Halstead, 2016, pp 211).

For the course project, our group has chosen Moses Cone Hospital as our setting. It is a Level II trauma center in Greensboro, North Carolina (Cone Health, 2019). The proposed program our group would like to begin at this facility is one directed to educating the registered nurses on how to properly treat the pain of pediatric patients in their facility. This education could be completed with simulations, competencies, online modules, and group discussions. A group member works at this facility and has observed this as an educational opportunity for the staff members.

The learning theory I chose for this discussion with our group project in mind was the situated learning and situated cognition theory. This theory has a goal of “bringing the real world into the academic setting” (Billings and Halstead, 2016, pp 216). The implications for nursing education for this theory allows for learning experiences including “case studies, role play, simulation, and learning in a clinical setting to immerse students in real-life situations” (Billings and Halstead, 2016, pp 216).

One study found that after a three-month period using situated learning for newly graduated nurse practitioners increased their confidence and competency levels, along with decreasing stress (Chen, Chen, Lee, Chang, & Yeh, 2017). Our program could help increase the knowledge and confidence of those pediatric nurses caring for children with pain. Another study showed that “on-site clinical practicums have been thought to provide a varied experience in learning to nurses. However, there is an inconsistency to clinical opportunities available during these practicums” (Onda, 2012). Clinical simulations of scenarios or patient cases can help the nurses feel comfortable with situations when they arise with patients if they did not see them during their practicum.

In conclusion, developing a curriculum that will satisfy the needs of every nurse that needs or desires the education will not be an easy task. With so many different types of theories to base the education off of, picking the most appropriate could be seen as a challenge. As for our group project, I feel that the situated learning theory would work in a favorable way for the curriculum we are developing for those nurses at Moses Cone Hospital.

Applying Nursing Theory Discussion

Instructions:

  1. Select one of the following scenarios related to a specific nursing. Think about what you would do in the scenario presented and post your ideas.
  2. Post two discussion questions based on the readings along with your answers.
  3. Read and then respond to at least two of your classmate’s postings.
Theorist Scenario
Florence Nightengale
  1. Using Nightengale’s concepts of ventilation, lightnoise, and cleanliness, analyze the setting in which you are practicing nursing (working as an employee or student).
  2. Using Nightengale’s theory, evaluate the nursing interventions you have identified for an individual patient in your facility or practice.

    OR

  3. Your hospital patient is an 82 year-old woman. She does not have immediate family and has been living alone in her own home. Her hospitalization was unanticipated; it followed a visit to the emergency room for a burn on her lower leg. The patient has been hospitalized for 14 days. She pleads with you to allow her friend to bring her dog, a 16-year-old Scotty Terrier, to the hospital. She tells you that none of the other nurses have listened to her when she asked them about such a visit. Based on Nightingale’s model, and 13 cannon, what actions would you take for this patient?
Betty Neuman
  1. Martina is a middle-aged Hispanic woman who brings her family to a local free clinic to obtain medical care. She works part time in a restaurant for minimum wage. She lives in a small apartment with her daughter and four preschool children; her daughter speaks only very broken English. Martina’s medical diagnoses are hypertension, arthritis, and depression.

Use the Neuman System Model as a conceptual framework to respond to the following:

    1. Describe the family as a system.
    2. How does the dominant Anglo culture impact on  the family’s stability as a system?
    3. What stressors (actual and potential) threaten the family?
    4. What additional assessment data are needed related to Martina’s medical diagnoses?
    5. What additional assessment data are needed related to the family’s health status?
    6. How will cultural differences influence planning for prevention as intervention at primary, secondary, and tertiary levels?

      OR

  1. Using the Neuman System Model, organize a patient care conference in your workplace to deal with a patient situation that has been difficult to manage.  Involve caregivers from nursing and at least one other disicpline to discuss each of the following:
    1. What factors comprise the patient’s normal and flexible lines of defense and lines of resistance?
    2. What stressors are  causing the problems with this patitent? What is the patient’s reaction to the stressor? What is each discipline’s perspective on the problem or isssues that are involved?
    3. How is the situation influenced by the patient’s family system? By the patient’s environment?
    4. What would be the ideal coutocme in this situation from each discipline’s perspective?  From the patient’s perspective?
    5. What goals would be appropariate to neogotiate with the patient?
    6. What primary, secondary, and tertiary prevention-as-interventions would support attainment of these goals?
Imogene King
  1. Think about and write your personal definitions of environment, health, nursing, and person. (Do these sound familiar to you?). Compare your definitions with King’s definitions. How are they similar? How are they different? Are they more alike than different? If they are more alike, develop a plan to use King’s framework and theory more extensively in your paper (and practice).

    OR

  2. Does the philosophy of one of the agencies in which you have practiced encourage the involvement of the patients in their care? If so, does mutual goal setting occur? If not, what changes would you suggest to promote more active involvement of the patients in their own care?

Analyze an interaction  you have had with a patient. Were you able to achieve a transaction as King describes it? If so, think about what you did differently with this person? If not, think about the interaction and try to identify why the transaction was not achieved?

Hildegard Peplau
  1. During the therapeutic relationship, patients may distort their perceptions of others. Therefore they may relate to the nurse not on  the basis of the nurse’s realistic attributes, but wholly or chiefly on the basis of interpersonal relationships existing in their environment. With  the patient and nurse roles you have described above, discuss how these distorted perceptions may affect the patient’s care and the nurse-patient relationship.

    OR

  2. Considering the nurse-patient relationship created in question #1 above, discuss the phases and the changing roles that would be considered when working with this patient. Consider experiences in which you would 0r/and would not be able to accomplish the appropriate goals for each phase of the nurse-patient relationship.

Discuss the usefulness of the Culture Care: Diversity and Universality Theory in the  21st Century to discover nursing knowledge and to provide culturally congruent care. Take into consideration the current trends of consumers of healthcare, cultural diversity factors, and changes in medical and nursing school curricula. Listed below are some examples of trends and changes you may want to consider in your discussion:

  1. The importance of transcultural nursing knowledge in an increasingly diverse world
  2. An increase of lay support groups to provide information and sharing of experiences and support for patients and/or families experiencing chronic, terminal, or life-threatening illnesses or treatment modalities from diverse and similar (common) cultures.
  3. Use of cultural values, beliefs, health practices, and research knowledge in undergraduate, alternative medicine, herbs, vitamins, minerals, and other over-the-counter medications, which demand a transcultural knowledge base.

hi dear can help me to finish this assignment with good quality and be on 2023 Assignment

 hi dear,

can help me to finish this assignment with good quality and be on time please?

Please follow the instructor carefully. There are 4 Discussions ,your response to classmates should be at least one paragraph for each Discussion, address the discussion topic or question, be respectful, and add to the discussion. You may draw upon personal experience, course or scholarly references, citing appropriately. Restating the primary response, or agreeing or disagreeing without supporting statements will result in a lower grade.

In reference to including a paragraph for both primary and peer responses, 4-5 sentences constitute a paragraph.

 Discussion one,

How do you approach risk assessment in a hospital?

Risk Assessments are challenging is a hospital environment because there are exposures to a multitude of environments and situations. Hospitals adopt an Incident Command Systems that are specific for their hospital and healthcare situation. The security structures fall under the Incident Command System and included a variety of support staff. Each of the organizations will have to discuss risks and identify a comprehensive risk assessment. Approaching the risk assessment means to rapidly recognize the potential incident escalating into a more severe situation that can jeopardize patient and staff safety (P. 278). Preparing a team is the first step. This will allow for direct communication and promote diversity within the demographics of the hospital’s location. The team from there will identify resource organizations and security staff to manage the risks assigned.

 Discussion two,

Risk assessment creates a way for hospitals identify and manage patient’s safety risks. The goal of risk assessment in a hospital is to limit or eliminate as much patient risk as possible. There are stages for a hospital risk team to follow for proper risk assessment, they are; identifying the hazards, evaluating the associated risks, controlling the risks & re-evaluating. These stages are extremely important when documenting risk assessment and trying to eliminate risks. When risks to a patient are noticed/detected, they need to be reported so they can be documented and assessed. Once assessed preventative measures should be put in place so it doesn’t reoccur. Feedback from patients is also important, sometimes they see more than hospital staff would see. It is important for a hospital to have feedback forms for patients to fill out in case of an at risk moment is noticed and that information goes through the proper chain of command.

  Discussion three,

In settings such as a hospital or medical clinic, the public eye would assume that these particular communities are one of the safest buildings to be in during a disaster and you would think nonetheless that it will also have the minimalist in crimes. However, during disasters such as the terrorist attacks in the fall of 2001 to the earthquake in Haiti in early 2010 these mass casualties have caused hospitals to become victims as well and are known to consume their resources and be reduced in providing care to patients. In addition, many other forces have their own security tasks to assure and assess their own individual vulnerabilities, threats, and risks upon identification, which is why nearly every town has a police force. These forces will be of use to any situation they are to come across in the area and to evaluate how to care for these incidents (Reilly, 2011 p 276).  Therefore, by discussing the hospitals security and defense it will be of necessary use in protecting  the physical infrastructure within the medical setting and allows healthcare facilities to continue to provide the resources for patient care and delivery (Reilly, 2011 p 272).

 Discussion Four,

Hospital security is important to protect those treating the patients and the patients themselves. People feel safe in a hospital when an incident occurs, and it is very important to maintain the safety level in a hospital to ensure no harm comes to their patients. Almost every town has a police force, and this is crucial to keep their citizens safe, without it, the incidence rates in both the town and hospitals are fairly high. Hospitals need to put risk assessments in place along with active protocols to ensure everyone under their care is safe and sound. In truth, anyone can enter a hospital and make the place unsafe. That is why the book emphasizes on hospital safety and protection, to prevent more incidents from happening (Moran, 2011).

NR 443 Milestone 3: Intervention and Evaluation

Purpose

The purpose of this PowerPoint presentation is to provide an opportunity to develop a community health nursing intervention and evaluation tool for your identified community health problem (described in Milestone 2: Assessment and Diagnosis) and identify the components of the nursing process as it applies to a community or population.

Course Outcomes

Scenario

You are a Community/Public Health Nurse (C/PHN) working in your setting of choice. You have identified a community health problem and have analyzed the data collected from your windshield survey and assessment & diagnosis assignments (the first two milestones). You have decided on one nursing intervention and need your organization’s approval for funding of this intervention. Your leadership team has agreed to listen to your proposal.

Directions

  • Choose a community health nurse setting. Some examples of settings are school nurse, parish nurse, home health nurse, nurse working in the health department (be specific to what area in the health department, e.g., WIC, STD clinic, health promotion, maternal-child health, etc.)
  • Introduction: Introduce the identified problem, the purpose of the presentation, and reiterate at least one or two important findings that demonstrate this problem in your community (average of 1–2 slides)
  • Proposed Intervention: Propose one community health nursingintervention that would address one or more of the major direct or indirect factors that contribute to the problem. Keep in mind the Public Health Intervention Wheel (Nies& McEwen, p. 14, figure 1-3) as your framework (average of 3-4 slides). Your intervention needs to be specific:

o Who is your target population?

o Where is this intervention taking place?

o Will it take place one time or multiple times?

o How will you reach out to your target population?

  • How will you get your target population involved?

o What is the CH Nurses role in this intervention?

o Will you collaborate with anyone (e.g., physician’s office, church, local resources, etc.?)

o Is anyone else involved besides yourself (C/PHN)?

  • If yes, are they paid or volunteers?

o What level(s) of prevention is your intervention addressing (primary, secondary and/or tertiary prevention)?

  • Intervention Justification: Justify why the problem and your nursing interventions should be a priority.

o Based on what you have found in the literature, discuss why these interventions are expected to be effective. Include summarized information from at least two professional scholarly sources related to your interventions (average of 2-3 slides).

  • Proposed Evaluation: Your presentation must include at least one proposed quantitative or qualitative evaluation method that you would use to determine whether your intervention is effective. It should include the method you would use along with desired outcomes. Outcome measurement is a crucial piece when implementing interventions. There is a helpful tool in Doc Sharing to assist you with understanding qualitative and quantitative methods of evaluation. (average of 2-3 slides)

o Include discussion about the long-term and short-term impact on your community if the intervention is successful. Keep in mind your desired outcomes when analyzing the evaluation.

  • Summary: The summary should reiterate the main points of the presentation and conclude with what you are asking to be accomplished, e.g., “Based on ABC, it is imperative our community has XYZ. Thank you for your consideration.”
  • In addition to the slides described above, your presentation should include a title slide, and reference slide. Remember, you are presenting to your leadership team, so the slides should include the most important elements for them to know in short bullet pointed phrases. You may add additional comments in the notes section to clarify information for your instructor.

Guidelines

  • Application: Use Microsoft PowerPoint 2010.
  • Length: The PowerPoint slide show is expected to be no more than 20 slides in length (not including the title slide and reference list slide).
  • Submission: Submit your files via the basket in the Dropbox: “Caring for Populations: Intervention and Evaluation” by 11:59 p.m. Sunday of Week 6.
  • Save the assignment with your last name in the file title. Example: “Smith Intervention and Evaluation”
  • Late Submission: See the course policy on late submissions.
  • Tutorial: If needed, Microsoft Office has many templates and tutorials to help you get started.

Best Practices in Preparing PowerPoint

The following are best practices in preparing this project:

  • Be creative, but realistic with your intervention and evaluation tool.
  • Incorporate graphics, clip art or photographs to increase interest.
  • Slides should be easy to read with short bullet points and large font.
  • Review directions thoroughly.
  • Cite all sources within the slide show as well as on the reference page.
  • Proofread prior to final submission.
