As we near the end of the course, consider the topics we have covered these past eleven weeks. Why is the study of sociology important? Do you see any connections between changing social norms and the larger, global issues that face us today? We’ve learned about some of the complexities of social structures and interactions. Do you believe the current dynamics of our social reality has made for a better world for our children than that defined by our own parents and grandparents? If so, how? If not, what do you consider to be the most significant social changes to threaten our current way of life?

Week 6 Discussion: Healthcare Information Technology Trends

 Post a brief description of general healthcare technology trends, particularly related to data/information you have observed in use in your healthcare organization or nursing practice. Describe any potential challenges or risks that may be inherent in the technologies associated with these trends you described. Then, describe at least one potential benefit and one potential risk associated with data safety, legislation, and patient care for the technologies you described. Next, explain which healthcare technology trends you believe are most promising for impacting healthcare technology in nursing practice and explain why. Describe whether this promise will contribute to improvements in patient care outcomes, efficiencies, or data management. Be specific and provide examples.

Describe a scenario in which a person’s nonverbal language says something quite different from the same person’s verbal language. In doing so, be sure to address how non-verbal communication differs from verbal communication. Describe how the speaker’s message differs depending on the following elements of delivery: voice, volume, pitch, rate, pauses, variety, pronunciation, articulation, and dialect.

  This assignment is to describe the roles and responsibilities of health care management in addressing contemporary health care issue. 

Take in Consideration the health care environment in which you currently work or plan to work, and select a specific health care organization within that setting to focus on for this assignment. Possible options could include an urban emergency center, a public health clinic, or a rural hospital. Research a current health care issue within your selected organization and any proposed initiatives to mitigate its impact on the community. Examples of current health care issues include the opioid crisis, the cost of prescription drugs, and coverage for health care, etc.
