Holistic Care And Treatments – 2025

An important area in nursing practice is in palliative and end-of-life care. Palliative care provides a more holistic approach to patient care and attempts to slow the progression of a disease. Palliative care can include an array of non-pharmaceutical therapies such as massage therapy or yoga. It can also include shorter or smaller treatments aimed at reducing negative side effects.

End-of-life care is about the process of dying. Helping patients and their families through this time can be difficult yet rewarding. Patients deserve respect and quality care through this time as well. Like nurses who practice in palliative care organizations, hospice nurses are moving toward alternative therapies to aid in comforting the terminally ill patient. As more care is being delivered in the home, the role of the nurse in providing palliative and end-of-life care will continue to evolve.

The use of complementary and alternative therapies in the treatment of cancer patients, terminal patients, and many other types of patients is steadily increasing. The  Resources also contain much information about the various alternative therapies currently being used.

Consider alternative therapies and discuss the challenges associated with them.

To prepare

· Review the Resources pertaining to alternative therapies.

· Select one of the following areas where alternative therapies are being used:

o Cancer treatment

o Cancer symptom management

o End-of-life care

o Palliative care

·

· Find at least two scholarly journal articles discussing alternative therapies in your chosen subtopic.

  • Identify at least one challenge associated with the nurse’s role in providing alternative therapies for patient care.
  • Explain how the nurse might integrate the use of Complementary and Alternative      Medicine (CAM) approaches in your chosen subtopic and discuss the ethical issues nurses may face.
  • What are the main elements you would include in a teaching plan for nurses on the use of CAM in your chosen subtopic?
  • What is the shared role of the nurse and patient in developing care plans?

Support your response with references from the professional nursing literature.

Note Initial Post: A 5-paragraph (at least 550 words) response. Be sure to use evidence from the readings and include in-text citations. Utilize essay-level writing practice and skills, including the use of transitional material and organizational frames. Avoid quotes; paraphrase to incorporate evidence into your own writing. A reference list is required. Use the most current evidence (usually ≤ 5 years old).

The Inclusion Of Nurses In The Systems Development Life Cycle – 2025

Discussion: The Inclusion of Nurses in the Systems Development Life Cycle

In the media introduction to this module, it was suggested that you as a nurse have an important role in the Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC). With a focus on patient care and outcomes, nurses may not always see themselves as contributors to the development of new systems. However, as you may have observed in your own experience, exclusion of nurse contributions when implementing systems can have dire consequences.

In this Discussion, you will consider the role you might play in systems development and the ramifications of not being an active participant in systems development.

To Prepare:

· Review the steps of the Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC) as presented in the Resources.

· Reflect on your own healthcare organization and consider any steps your healthcare organization goes through when purchasing and implementing a new health information technology system.

· Consider what a nurse might contribute to decisions made at each stage of the SDLC when planning for new health information technology.

Post a description of what you believe to be the consequences of a healthcare organization not involving nurses in each stage of the SDLC when purchasing and implementing a new health information technology system. Provide specific examples of potential issues at each stage of the SDLC and explain how the inclusion of nurses may help address these issues. Then, explain whether you had any input in the selection and planning of new health information technology systems in your nursing practice or healthcare organization and explain potential impacts of being included or not in the decision-making process. Be specific and provide examples.

Task Details PLEASE only use the references from the provided reference list – DO NOT use any outside references!!!!!! One reference to be used is high lightened yellow. ISBN, links and pages numbers have been provided. Please look them up properly and reference Harvard style. The minimum reference to be used is 4 but please use as many of them provided references as possible please. PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF YOU CANNOT ACCESS ANY OF THE REFERENCES AND I WILL SORT SOMETHING OUT You will critique the following article: Whitaker, D. J., T. Haileyesus, M. Swahn, and L.S. Saltzman. 2007. “Differences in frequency of violence and reported injury between relationships with reciprocal and nonreciprocal intimate partner violence.” American Journal of Public Health, 97(5): 941–947. http://doi.org/10.2105/AJPH.2005.079020 THE LINK IS IN THE REFERENCE LIST A critique is a type of essay that evaluates the effectiveness of a text according to specific criteria. The first step in writing a critique is carefully reading the text. Use a dictionary if you don’t understand words in the article. The critique involves the following steps: 1. Evaluate the accuracy of the text. 2. Make connections between your critiques of Whitaker et al. (2007) and the unit readings. (IMPORTANT – only use the provided references from the list) 3. Provide specific evidence from unit readings to back up your arguments/statements (what, why, how). 4. Demonstrate your understanding of the course content. 5. Use only unit materials as in-text references/reference list. REFER TO REFERENCE LIST I want to see that you have learned how to be a critical consumer of violence research based on assigned unit content. Use all assigned materials to help you identify strengths and areas of concern in Whitaker et al.’s (2007) article. Be sure to be specific in your critique. Provide specific evidence and examples with citations to unit content to support your conclusions. For example, don’t just say “the authors fail to acknowledge that their findings contradict other research.” What other research? What specifically is contradictory? Why is it a problem? What are the implications of this? What would have made the article stronger? As a whole, your critique should reflect a comprehensive understanding of the course content up to and including the week 6 content (these are all provided in the reference list). Being able to apply course content to critique an empirical article is an excellent opportunity to show me what you have learned so far. Academic Sources: You should incorporate a variety of assigned sources from this unit, citing and discussing a minimum of four substantive readings or films. All sources must be correctly cited in text and a correctly formatted reference list must be provided. You should cite to the assigned text rather than lectures for all assigned readings/films/multimedia in the unit. For example, if I talk about the Bancroft book in a lecture, you should cite the chapter that you read rather than the recap I provided in the lecture. For this assessment you should NOT cite sources other than those assigned in the unit. Introduction Provide a clear citation of the article. (You can then use Whitaker et al. (2007) when you are referring to the article in your work.) Provide a brief summary of the main arguments you will be discussing (Whitaker et al. (2007) is about…, The research was…). State your general assessment of the work (The main points…, The authors conclude…). Include your own thesis statement. Article Summary Present of brief summary of Whitaker et al.’s (2007) main arguments/ideas, key findings, conclusions/recommendations. What do the authors say? Remember, this is not where you evaluate. It is where you provide an accurate summary of the article’s main points. Critical Analysis You should critique three aspects of the article in total. Ideally, you should focus on substantive issues. Conclusion What does this mean for DV research and/or practice? What suggestions do you have for improving the article? References A minimum of four assigned sources from the list provided. No sources from outside the unit. Harvard style referencing

Case Study On Death And Dying – 2025

Case Study on Death and Dying

The practice of health care providers at all levels brings you into contact with people from a variety of faiths. This calls for knowledge and understanding of a diversity of faith expressions; for the purpose of this course, the focus will be on the Christian worldview.

Based on “Case Study: End of Life Decisions,” the Christian worldview, and the worldview questions presented in the required topic study materials you will complete an ethical analysis of George’s situation and his decision from the perspective of the Christian worldview.

Provide a 1,500-2,000-word ethical analysis while answering the following questions:

  1. How would George interpret his suffering in light of the Christian narrative, with an emphasis on the fallenness of the world?
  2. How would George interpret his suffering in light of the Christian narrative, with an emphasis on the hope of resurrection?
  3. As George contemplates life with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), how would the Christian worldview inform his view about the value of his life as a person?
  4. What sorts of values and considerations would the Christian worldview focus on in deliberating about whether or not George should opt for euthanasia?
  5. Based on the values and considerations above, what options would be morally justified in the Christian worldview for George and why?
  6. Based on your worldview, what decision would you make if you were in George’s situation?

Remember to support your responses with the topic study materials.

Prepare this assignment according to the guidelines found in the APA Style Guide, located in the Student Success Center. An abstract is required.

This assignment uses a rubric. Please review the rubric prior to beginning the assignment to become familiar with the expectations for successful completion.

You are required to submit this assignment to LopesWrite. Refer to the LopesWrite Technical Support articles for assistance.

Hello Everyone,

I trust that we are all doing relatively good today. Here are some tips to complete this upcoming assignment.

  1. Review the instructions thoroughly. Understand what is expected of you.
  2. Review the rubric as well. Know how much you need to discuss to get full point in one section. One line discussion or mention of a point is not the same as a good paragraph on a point.
  3. Adhere to the minimum word count. Less that the minimum word count will cause 10% to be manually deducted. Minimum word count does not include the cover and pages of references. You make ask, how can I meet or even exceed the minimum word count. Well one tip for this is to use subheadings. Subheadings keep your discussion focused and deliberate. Without subheadings you stand the chance of discussing some point very well and others not so well, everything is one big jumble. Try using subheadings (just a suggestion). They are the sections of your paper.
  4.  An abstract is required. Therefore, familiarize yourself on how to write an abstract. Therefore, if the abstract is missing, another 10% is lost. Therefore know what it is required in an abstract.
  5. One thing you must know about the abstract is that it is on the second page after the cover page by itself. The abstract is not suppose to be part of the body. If the essay is written and the word abstract is planted at the top, it will be ignored as if you did not write one. Again, the abstract needs to be on the second page by itself. It should be a good solid paragraph. Centered at the top of that paragraph is the word abstract. the next page starts the body of the paper.
  6.  How many subheadings: about 6 subheadings
  7.  How would my paper look:

                                                        I.      Cover Page (page 1)

                                                         II.    Abstract (page 2)

III.    Body of Paper (Starts on page 3)

IV.     References ( starts on the new page after the body of the paper)

 8. I think I covered all that there is, however, if you have anything question or are unclear about anything, do not hesitate to ask here, in the   questions to instructor forum or in private.
