Submit, by way of this assignment, a summary report of the scholarly activity, including who, what, where, when, and any relevant take-home points. Include the appropriate program competencies associated with the scholarly activity as well as future professional goals related to this activity. Child abuse and maltreatment in children of school-age years. School age years is described as from 6 to 12 years of age. The types of abuse commonly seen among children of school age years are: Neglect, physical abuse, psychological abuse, and sexual abuse. The warning signs and physical and emotional assessment findings that the nurse may see that could indicate child abuse are: The child looks unkempt, he is fearful, unhappy, and withdrawn, he does not go to school or is always late at school and sleeps while the class is going on and is uninterested at his surroundings, he is small for age and there are bruises and fractures at different stages of healing, and the care takers explanations are twisted. (Shaw 2018)

Different cultural health practices that can be misidentified as child abuse is rebuking a child when he does something wrong, flogging or spanking a child to correct disobedience, or even female circumcision as the people that practice it believe it will cub promiscuity, others are like sending children to sell or fetch water. While this holds sway in some countries, it is regarded as child abuse in orders. (Jenni 2018)

The reporting mechanism in my state Kentucky and the nurse responsibilities related to the reporting of suspected child abuse is that if it is suspected a child is being abused or neglected, contact is made to Kentucky’s Statewide Child Abuse Hotline Number 1 877 597 2331 to make a report. One can also go online to the Child Reporting System Monday-Friday between the hours of 8:00 am and 4:30 pm (EST) to make a report. And the nurse is a mandated child abuse reporter. This means that she is legally obliged to: make a report as soon as possible to Child Protection if she believes on a reasonable ground that a child is being abused. (Daro 2019)

1. For this assignment, you will Interview a client whose culture is different from yours. The client can be a patient, neighbor, grandparent, in-law, or friend. Do not use your parent, brother, sister, spouse, or significant other. This interview is the basis of your paper. Use the Organizing Framework (12 domains of Purnell Model) to guide your interview.
2. Interview your selected person on three or four domains of the model. Complete a literature review of the cultural group from which your interviewee comes. Compare and contrast data obtained from your interview with what you find in the literature. Provide at least two recommendations for clinical practice, two recommendations for research, and two recommendations for the health-care organization on this cultural group; be specific in your recommendations.

• Presentation is original work and logically organized in current  APA style.  Incorporate a minimum of 4   current (published within last five years) scholarly journal articles or primary legal sources (statutes, court opinions) within your work. 
• Power point presentation with 8 -10 slides, excluding the tile slide and the reference slide.

Think about the priorities inherent in the basic care and comfort needs of clients. After meeting the need for oxygenation, identify and briefly discuss the following:

• Which need is the next priority for you
• How a change in health status would affect meeting that basic need. 
• Discuss what actions a nurse could take to assist you with this change.
